The Slytherin's Property

Oh Brother

The days passed quickly and before I knew it I was at platform 9 3/4 with my parents and boarding the train to Hogwarts! I can't wait to see my big brother! (he's 3minutes older than me)

On the train ride, people kept complimenting my hair, my hair is black with red running through it, I don't know where I got my hair from though, Mum,Dad and Blaise's hair is black all the way through.

But about halfway through the train ride, the train just ....stopped? A thin sheet of ice started spreading on the windows, it started to get really cold so I wrapped my cloak tighter around my shivering body, it kind of felt like I couldn't ever be happy again...I brought myself closer to the window and looked outside although I couldn't see much because of the ice but I swear I saw something move, there couldn't possibly be anything out there....right? *creak, cluunk!* I felt and heard, someone..no...something get on the train, I shrunk back, terrified, I started to sing to myself, I sang a song that Blaise always used to sing to me when we were little, "Lately I aint been the same man I knew me to be..."I started sounding a little strangled, I took a deep breath and continued, "I've been so caught up, so thoughtless but you know that, that isn't me, but even in my darkest hour, you were a light I could see... and yeah, we all fall..but you know when you call... you can count on me," I continued my voice starting to get a little smoother, "When the roof falls in, when the windows break, and its you can take.. you can count on me..when you come undone, when it all goes wrong and you need someone...you can count on me, because you're my other half,"I breathed calming down, just then I saw it....a tall gangly creature that seemed to be floating, it had a long black cloak....it was a dementor!??

Blaise and I had learnt about dementors from our parents they were the guards of Azkaban, so what was one doing near Hogwarts?...something was wrong...I paused my train of thought as I saw it stop and unlock the door to the bunker across from me...I looked over and saw three kids in there I could've sworn one of them looked like Harry Potter! Then a thought crossed my mind... what if it was?? I learnt that dementors feed on sadness and negative emotions....and the poor boy probably had his parents killed in front of him!! Then I saw the dementor trying to take his soul I just sat there frozen... my mind kept screaming DO SOMETHING!HELP THEM!! But I was petrified....so there I sat huddled in my cloak feeling helpless and guilty...then suddenly, a light erupted from the bunker across from me, it took me few seconds to realize that there was a man in the bunker to warding off the dementor!He was probably the new defence against the dark arts teacher! Thank goodness they were going to be ok...I just wish I could've done more...no matter they were safe.

When I arrived at Hogwarts I didn't know my way around so one of the teachers, Professor McGonagal, got another third year to escort me to the headmasters office.

I had waited a little while for the other student then I saw her walking towards me, "Hi I'm Hermione," she said "I'm Alexandra, Alexandra Zabini," I replied "Oh are you by any chance related to Blaise Zabini?" She asked, "yes , he's my twin brother," I explained  "I just want to warn you about your brother's best friend, Draco Malfoy, don't tell anyone I said this but..... he's an absolute little shite!" She continued I giggled at her comment and she laughed too, "Wait... you're the girl I saw on the train..."I realized "What do you mean?" She asked, "I was in the bunker across from you and your friends... I saw you guys get attacked by the dementor..."I said looking at my feet, "Oh, okay" she gave me a searching look, "...Are you ok Alexandra?" She asked with sincere worry, "I just wish I could've done more to help you guys...I'm sorry, I was just so terrified I-" "Alexandra," she interrupted in a firm but gentle voice "There's nothing you could have done, so stop feeling guilty, its not your fault that dementors showed up so far from Azkaban and its not your fault that they attacked the train, its OKAY." She reassured "Ok, thanks Hermione," I said feeling a little lighter  "So what house are you in?" I asked "Gryffindor," she replied "I hope you're in Gryffindor or Slytherin, then we might have a few classes together,"she said cheerfully "Oh I heard Slytherin was bad"I said sheepishly "Oh no, Not at all just some people who are in Slytherin, I think even if you were in Gryffindors opposite house we'd still be friends, you're not like everyone else,"she smiled.

On the way to the headmaster's office we just talked, she told me about school and all the classes.When we got to the headmaster's office Hermione greeted the professor, "Professor Dumbledore," She greeted him, "Miss Granger," The Headmaster smiled, he then turned to me and smiled, "Oh, you must be..Alexandra I presume?"he asked "Yes sir, Alexandra Zabini,"I smiled "Ah, Blaise's twin sister,"he realized "Well, we best get you sorted into a house,"he continued, "Ah, Miss Granger would you please fetch the sorting hat from my desk? Oh, and the stool please?" He asked, "Of course sir,"she replied,she quickly fetched the sorting hat and the stool and returned to us "Thanks Hermione,"I smiled and she smiled back. " Please sit on the stool Miss Zabini," the headmaster said I walked over and sat on the stool, he then placed the sorting hat on my head and then it started talking? " Ah, another Zabini, you think like your brother, cunning,quick on your feet yet slightly more courageous, hmm... What to do with you?"it contemplated, "Ah, I know, Slytherin!"it shouted Hermione grinned and so did I , "You two can go wait outside my office, I'll send for two Slytherins to come and collect you Miss Zabini, and Miss Granger you may proceed back to your common room if you wish," Professor Dumbledore smiled.
