We start this story, five o'clock in morning. The alarm woke Kearn up. With a low grumble and him smacking his desk next to his bed until he hit the alarms snooze button. That's a slippery slope I don't want to fall in, again. Kearn says to himself letting out an annoyed sigh. He forces himself off his bed which felt like sleeping on the world's softest material.
"Goodbye, my love." He says laughing at himself because of his own weirdness. His voice is rough and scratchy at the moment but after some water, it would come more smoothly, it was always hard to figure out if he was trying to charm someone, or threatening them.
"Hey, buddy!" A rough voice called from down the stars. His dad, Kendall.
"Yeah, dad?" Kearn called back as he slipped into some pants.
"Lucas Is here!" He called back. Kearn's face lit up with a smile. Time to get in trouble. He to himself smirking. Pulling on a rock band shirt then the black and red hoodie he loved. The outside of hood was black with two streaks of red and inside. The zipper was red and so were the edges of his jacket. One thick red line going from the pockets then curving towards the back finished the design. He had customized himself and loved more than anything.

He walked downstairs carrying his backpack (Black with hints of gray obviously) meeting his friends gaze.
"Really that hoodie again?" Lucas said laughing.
"Don't hate! It's cold and this is awesome!" He asked laughing as he meeting his friend at the bottom of the stairs. Kendall went back to bed seeing as it was still five in the morning.
"I will never understand how the both of you can wake up so early." He said chuckling to himself. The pair of brothers walked out into the cold brisk air, the two were the same. They loved the dark. Kearn and Lucas started walking towards school, they both could drive but didn't like wasting the gas and enjoyed the walks.

About halfway there the two went off the route to school and took an hours walk to an alleyway and climbed up an abandoned factory. Lucas was better at it, to say the least. Kearn wasn't the best at climbing the tall buildings, sure a small house, two stories at most was easy. Just getting the footing right was hard for him. Once at the top the two sat down and looked at the skyline and watched the sun rise over the horizon. A favorite view of Kearn's.
"Take a picture why don't you," Lucas said nudging his arm. Kearn didn't laugh or make a witty come back he just smiled and stared straight.
"Wouldn't be the same." He said as he put his arms on the edge of his knees.
"Yeah whatever," Lucas said as he pulled out a lighter and a cigarette pack from his pocket. "Here." He said handing one to kearn. Lucas lighted his first and took a big long puff.
"That bad back at home?" Kearn asked. Lucas flopped down and stared at the grayish yellowish sky.
"You have no idea." He said signing taking another puff. Kearn took the lighter and lighted his and took a puff too still sitting watching the sunrise.
"How bad did it get?" Kearn asked. looking down at Lucas with his eyes closed and the cigarette in his mouth. He lifted up part of his shirt and a big purple bruise covered his side. Lucas took another puff before putting his shirt back down. Kearn gritted his teeth. "And your mom?" He asked trying hard not to punch the roof.
"I got it worse. Trust me." Lucas said not meeting Kearn's gaze.
"I swear I'm going to kill him." Kearn blurted out crushing part of the cigarette he was holding. Lucas sighed and took a small puff. kearn did the same and laid there with his friend as he calmed down.

After the two finished their cigarettes they talked until six thirty and started to make their way down. Surprisingly Kearn was a lot better at going down than he was going up. He loved the adrenaline the split second of free falling he had as he hopped down the building. At about twenty feet Kearn let go of the wall and crouched as he hit the ground softening his land. Lucas scoffed with his arms crossed.
"I will never understand how you don't break your legs when you do it ." He said Kearn laughed back and patted Lucas chest as he walked by.
"Practice my boy." He said with a high-class English accent smirking.

At their school SFHS, Sacred Forest High School. It was named that because of the dense forest just a few miles outside of town twords the north-west. No one knew why but not a single tree was ever cut down. They were always the first there, obviously being at the campus by seven in the morning. They sat down at the lunch tables for breakfast, greeted the lunch ladies and the morning janitor. They sat and talked at the table facing the door and away from everyone else. Kearn's choice, he never liked people behind him.
