Our teacher wanted to have a typical Hollywood ending for the Dead Poets Society (the book for the movie). He said we're allowed to write a whole new end or from the real end. I decided to write a new one. I hope you like it. :)
...Neil sat in the leather desk chair and reaching across the desk, he picked up the crown of the flowers he'd worn as Puck and put it on his head.
Slowly he put out the revolver of his father.
Everything was so quiet inside and outside the house.
The snow was still falling down.
Neil felt like the more snowflakes fell down, the more weight he got on his shoulders. He couldn't take this anymore.Without a tremble he lead the gun to his temple. He knew how to use it.
But suddenly he heard a knock on the window and a muffled "Neil, no!".
It was Todd!Quickly Neil opened the window:"Todd, what are you doing here?"
"I came to talk with you. But Neil, what are you doing?", Tood was shocked.
"I just want to bring it to an end! My father will send me to a military school! I'm not allowed to act! He took everything from me!", Neil shouted.
"But to shoot yourself is not the answer! Neil, we need you, I need you! You're my best friend, Neil, you helped me to live!", Todd got angry.
He couldn't believe Neil had given up. "Give me the gun!" He tried to take it away from him.
"No!", Neil made some footsteps backwards - Todd followed. They started to struggle for the gun.
Suddenly there was a quick, short sound that broke the night's silence.
Both of them stood still.
But then Todd fell down and his blood started to made a pool of blood around him - he was dead.
Neil was shocked. He shot his best friend!
He looked out of the window.
The snow fell down - more weight on his shoulders. He heard footsteps on the staircase. His parents!
Neil didn't know what to do. He couldn't live knowing that he shot his best friend.
At once a strange silence came about him. Once again he lead the gun to his temple. But this time there was no one to hold him back - He pulled the trigger.
When Mr. and Mrs. Perry came into the study, they saw Neil and Todd lying on the floor side by side bathed in their own blood.
Mr. Perry's gun lied on the carpet next to them.Mrs. Perry screamed.
Mr. Perry sat down on the side of his only and now dead son.
While he cried he looked out of the window.
The snow fell down, but this time on Mr. Perry's shoulders.
