I was sitting on the couch watching TV. Nathan was sitting on the other side, on his phone. It was later in the day. Nathan made me get out of bed and sit in the living room with him. When he wasn't looking, I'd glare at him. As if my stare could burn a hole right through his stupid head.

"So. Tomorrow. You are to stay near me. No talking to anyone. Oh wait. You still can't," he laughed at his own cruel joke. I kept looking at the TV. "Look at me." I turned to him, not really wanting to. "If I catch you looking at that guy, I'll make sure you starve for a few days. Got it?" I nodded, turning back to the TV. "You need to dress nice tomorrow." I looked at him and held up my cast arms. My forearms were covered in the thick cast. I tried to grip onto the remote for proof that I can't really dress myself. "Fine. You don't need to. I'll help you I guess."

I leaned back further on the couch, content with the answer. Even though he was the rudest, most evil person alive, he still cared about me deep down. "But you need a bath. You smell like hospital. It's gross." He got up and blocked my view from the TV. I groaned and looked up at him. "Come on." I offered one of my arms to him and he took it. He helped me up and we headed to the bathroom.

I sank into the tub, enjoying the warmth wrapping my body. I lay my arms on the side of the tub, making sure they didn't get wet. Even though they had wrappings on them to prevent that. I let out a small sigh and closed my eyes. Nathan was in our room, looking for pajamas for me to wear. He was being shockingly nice to me this afternoon. Which really isn't like him. I'll enjoy it while it lasts, I thought.

I opened my eyes to see that Nathan came back with some fuzzy pants and a t-shirt. He grabbed a towel out of the cabinet and sat on the toilet. "Ready?" I nodded and he helped me out. I slipped on the edge of the tub and fell forward onto Nathan. We fell onto the floor with a wet smack. Nathan gasped deeply, as the air was knocked out of him. My eyes widened, giving silent sorry's. I scrambled to get off him, knowing how pissed he must be right now.

After he could breath normally, he opened his eyes and looked at me. His expression full of anger. "What the fuck, Charlotte?" I tensed up, attempting to hold his hand as an apology. "Why the fuck are you so clumsy? You really can't do anything fucking right." He sat up and grabbed my arm, making me stand. He wrapped the towel around me and basically dragged me out of the bathroom. I let out a pained whimper from his grip on my arm. "Shut up." He tossed me on the bed and threw my clothes at me. "Just get dressed." He walked out, slamming the door.

The ride to school was miserable. Nathan wouldn't let me take my pills this morning, so I was sore and in pain. I just wanted to lay in bed and sleep the day away. Nathan blared his music, not caring if it was too loud. He let me wear sweatpants today, though. I guess that was one positive.

I grabbed my crutches and slowly lifted myself out of the car. Nathan stood by me, making sure I wouldn't fall. Can't have me embarrassing him. Even though I don't know how taking me to school would help with that. I managed to keep my footing and followed Nathan into the building. Some kids gasped and stared at me. Others glared. "I thought she was dead." "Did he do that?" "I heard she was in a car accident." "Why is she here?" Everyone whispered to each other. I may not be able to speak, but I can still hear them. Very well.

We sat in our usual spot in the gym, with Nathan keeping a protective arm around me. I stared blankly at the far wall, wanting the day to be over already. Nathan played on his phone, like usual. I scanned the gym, seeing who was staring or making it look like they weren't. Until my eyes fell on one person.

Gavin.

Whose expression was full of horror and anger. His hair was a mess, not its usual upkeep do. He looked like he hadn't slept in days. His hands were curled into tight fists. His knuckles white. "He didn't do that, did he?" He mouthed. I looked down. I need out soon.

When Nathan wasn't looking, I'd watch Gavin during our classes. I felt bad that I had been involving him. No one else should have to deal with this. It isn't right.

At lunch, Nathan said that he was going somewhere but I was to stay at the table and not go anywhere. I looked at my tray and shook my head. I can't eat this, Nathan! I groaned angrily and layed my head on the table.

"Hey," a quiet voice said next to me. I lifted my head to see Gavin. I widened my eyes. "He's not here. So it won't hurt. How you doing?"

I gestured to my bandaged mouth. I shook my head and looked down.

"He did that? What the fuck..? He says you got in a car accident but I know you didn't. Not with how he treats you," he paused. "When are we doing this plan?"

I looked up at him and attempted to open my mouth. My voice came out weak and hoarse. It was almost a whisper. "Tomorrow."
