Elaina went back into the kitchen to prepare four more dishes. You guiltily thanked her when you felt someone tug on your sleeve. You looked down to see Devon looking at you with wide eyes.

With his small hands he pointed up at your head. "Where are your ears?" He asked.

Jace gave him a sharp look. "Don't be so rude Devon! Not everyone has ears like us!"

Devon looked at Leo. "But he does."

"That's because he's a neko. She is a human!"

"Why don't humans have ears like us?"

"Because they don't! You're too young to understand it." You could feel the conversation getting awkward and turned to face Leo. Devon walked off disappointed with the answers he had received.

After Dinner was over Jace told you he only had two spare rooms. That's a lie! You thought to yourself. You didn't say it out loud in fear of offending the neko. "How about 1 neko per human? For protection you know." You saw him smirk as Leo grabbed you.

"I'll be bunking you with." He said and held you close to him. Jace showed the both of you to your room while Elaina showed the others.

After Jace left  Leo sat down on the only bed and pulled you into him. You didn't object, he was warm in the cold and unused room. "What are we going to do?" You Asked, your voice muffled slightly.

"Huh?" Leo gazed down at you. "What do you mean?"

"Well we can't stay here forever, it was nice enough of Jace to take us in now. We can't expect him to keep us."

"What would you do if I told you that I knew a woman who could help us permanently?"

"I would ask you where she was and how to get there."

"It's a couple of days long travel by foot I'm afraid. There are no road of safe places to use any other mode of transportation."

"How can she help us?"

"Well you'll just find out as author-chan writes more of the book won't you?" He giggled, completely breaking the fourth wall.
