A lonely girl wandered aimlessly around the school yard. It was as if she had no conscience of where she was or what she was doing. Her pink hair fluttering in the gentle breeze. In her hand she clutched the acoustic guitar that she had always treasured. As she gazed down at it, she began to remember. She remembered when she was paralyzed in her hospital bed because of her parents’ selfish arguing. She crumbled to the floor like a breadcrumb between someone’s fingertips; holding her head as if something inside of her was screaming to be let out. Just as she was about to scream from the immense pain building up in her head, she felt a warm hand slide over her shoulder. She slowly looked up at me. “So you’ve remembered… What your life was like before the afterlife…” The pink haired girl blinked in surprise.“The afterlife?” She asked, utterly confused. “My name is Hisako. What’s yours?” “My name is Iwasawa. How did I get here Hisako?” “You died unfairly and unjustly so you were sent to the afterlife. From the looks of it, your life must have been terrible…” Iwasawa didn’t reply. She didn’t want anybody to know what her childhood was really like. “All my life, I’ve wanted to be in a band to make music that comforts people in pain and helps them to find peace with themselves. But I’ve never found anybody who would want to be in a band with me…” “I’ll join you’re band!” I replied enthusiastically. “I play the guitar too! I’ve got some other friends here too who want to be in a band. We could make one together!” I held out my hand towards her. She took it gratefully and said “thank you Hisako. I promise that we’ll make everyone happy with our music!” She looked directly into my eyes as she said this and my heart fluttered for some reason. Could she really be? No. I can’t let myself be consumed that easily.
