Ever since I met her, Iwasawa has always been like a sister to me. We can entrust each other with all of our secrets. I think that I’m the only person here in the afterlife that knows her first name. Masami… Every time we play together on stage and I see her smiling, I can’t help but smile too. The happiness that she feels is infectious and when she is happy, not one thing in the world could make her sad. She seems to be becoming more and more at peace with herself. She is living her dream after all. The dream that she couldn’t fulfil in the real world “Hey, Hisako!” yelled Iwasawa from the opposite end of the corridor. I waved back at her and as I did, I felt happy inside, for she was smiling. “Yurippe says that we are creating another distraction tonight so make sure you’re ready!” “Erm, Iwasawa! Can I speak to you alone for a sec?” I asked nervously. “Sure, let’s go to the field at the back of the school!” We walked in silence for most of the way. I was going to be alone with her yet I had no idea what to say! She finally broke the silence. “Hisako, you’re not usually like this. What’s up?” My stomach clenched and I stopped walking. What do I say? “Iwasawa I…” She stopped me there. Did she know how I felt? “Hisako. Ever since I first saw you, I knew that I was meant to find you here. I think it was the work of a God that brought us together.” My throat was dry. I’d completely lost the ability to speak whilst Masami gazed at me like that. “M-Me too. I feel the same way about you but I’ve never had the guts to tell you…” She took a hold of my chin and said “Hisako, I don’t want to leave this place. I want to stay with you…” With those words, time froze before my eyes she leaned forward and her lips touched mine. It felt like my life was complete. I closed my eyes and thought to myself. I was right about Iwasawa. She is the girl of my dreams. I just have to let her embrace me and I can fulfil my hope in life. We kissed for a little while longer until she pulled away slowly.
