Students chatter filled the car park. Squeals, laughs, talking and arguing. I sighed as my eyes were squeezed shut, my forehead leaning against the steering wheel.
The event which occurred a couple of minutes ago repeated through my head, as well as before the drive.
It started like a usual morning, the house empty which has been occurring a lot since my step dads promotion. I rolled my eyes just remembering how he said it was a 'good opportunity' and requested for me to come.
Yeah, like I was going to leave my friends behind. I told the bastard he should take mum instead; I couldn't believe he had just offered to take me and leave her home alone. Why does she even love him? Oh, that's right, without him we'd be in a massive debt.
That aside; after I had showered and changed I noticed how late I was going to be if I took the time to have breakfast. Shrugging it off, the bastard would know I'm still alive once he gets a phone call from the school about my lateness.
After breakfast; I grabbed my keys and started to drive.
Halfway through, though, I thought 'why not take a different course?'
That's when I saw her.
She was walking.
It would take an hour to walk! I was probably over-exaggerating, but it would've been along walk if the drive was 10 minutes.
I thought of stopping and asking her if she wanted a ride; but if she rejects to meet up at lunchtime she would most likely reject a car ride. But, she does seem like someone who would take school more seriously than an average person.
Heck, if an average person had the teachers not care if they attend class or not whilst giving them good grades for not attending they wouldn't even go; I know I wouldn't.
But, that's what I admire about her. I've been admiring her since she came to the school; she's very strong to be able to come to school every day, ignoring rumours and facing teachers.
I wish I had talked to her sooner; but I was such an arrogant idiot and cared about my reputation too much. That was until reality slapped me in the face as most of the people surrounding me had started to show their true colours and my ex-girlfriend cheated on me.
It was the day that Peter accidently hit her with the ball I realised it was a crush.
Peter and the team were the only one's who stuck with me honestly, with some exceptions. By exceptions, I mean the Peter's girl 'the tomboy' and her bestfriends. That was the main reason why I wanted 'Nass' to join me for lunch. I wanted her to see that not everyone was afraid of her and Peter only freaked out on the first day due to 'hitting a girl'.
Yeah, Pete's a mummas-boy. He was over-reacting and freaked; even though it was an accident.
I slowed down a couple of meters behind her and beeped. She jumped a little and looked around her, causing me to chuckle. Once she started walking again, I beeped at her again.
She finally turned around and checked out the car for a good 5 minutes, which caused a humorous grin to appear on my face. If I was a creepy stranger, she would check out my car?
Taking advantage her being distracted, I decided to say something to see her reaction.
"Hey, need a ride?"
