Marie ignored the barrel of the gun trained on her, instead locking eyes with the woman that would decide her fate.
"Why are you hesitating?"
Tessa doesn't answer, but Marie can see her grip tighten a little more.
"You have the gun drawn. What's keeping you from pulling the trigger?"
"Shut up," Tessa growls.
"Okay. One last thing though. After you shoot me, what comes next? After my body hits the floor, what do you do when you come out of this murderous rage? It might be a matter of seconds or days, but sooner or later, you'll have to face it."
