Darren on the Side

Chapter 1

Darrens POV

I ran toward Derrix Forest, my hideout from all my tormentors. They haven’t found that I always hid in Derrix Forest, because I’m swift and fast. My name is Darren, and I live in this treacherous city called Parkson Port. All people in this city are cruel, evil, and rude. I just can’t take living the life I am living. Parkson Port is one of the most polluted cities in the world, and it just breaks my heart seeing them build another architectural failure. Yes, I am a nature freak, but nature is harmless. I sat down next to my tree, which is basically, my territory. Whenever I am being tormented or abused, this is where I hide. This tree is my only friend, besides Jalena.

Jalena is my only friend, the only person I talk to, and the only person who cares about me. Both of my parents died in a car accident when coming home from Wal-Mart. When I got the call about my parents death, I was DEVASTATED. I cried for a few 7 hours. The only person who supported me was Jalena. All my tormentors just teased me more about crying. I haven’t tried to stop them, but Jalena keeps telling me I should. After about two days, this guy was arrested for killing my Mom and Dad. I was then put into the “safe” hands of my Uncle. He was part of my problem. He was my abuser. He said, if I ever tell anyone about this, he would strangle me. He would always threaten to strangle me, but not kill me. My uncle would always punch me if I messed up one little thing. He would start to throw punches if I got back home late. He was a little too overprotective because he abused me so much.

I leaned onto the trunk of the tree and sobbed. I ran from school today, because of the ‘Group’ that contains of players, tormentors, and Jerks. I heard feet coming toward me. I looked up, but it was no use. My eyes were blurry because of all the crying I have done. “Darren, you ok? Darren?” She asked. “Jalena? Is that you?” I said. “Mhm, after you gave me that text about running from school again, I faked being sick so I could go home and see you, Darren. I have been worrying about you Darren. You shouldn’t have to live this life. Just a few words will get you out of your problem.” She said. “I know, but, I’m just afraid about my Uncle Jim Jo Bob” I exclaimed. “Ok, come with me, we are going to the mall to freshen you up. That cool with you, Darren?” “Ok, Jalena”

Jalena pulled into the parking lot of the mall. This mall was huge, but what makes me mad is that they built this mall where a beautiful forest used to be. Parkson Port was basically a forest before. If Jalena and my parents where the only human beings in the old Parkson Port, it would be paradise. I looked out the window of Jalena’s Toyota Sienna and saw, the Tormentors. I squealed and hid in the car. But Jalena, she had to get the automatic door to open. Jason and the gang found me trying to flip over to get into the back. I saw Jason look to the guys and smirked.  They came running to me and got me by the shirt. I choked when I felt Jason pulled me up. Then I heard the footsteps of Jalena. “Get off of my friend, Jason.” She exclaimed. “Aww, look at baby Jiggle Jiggle. That’s your name, isn’t it?” He asked. “You shut your mouth or get kicked where the sun don’t shine.” She said. “Aww I’m so sc- OOOHHH” He shouted. Jalena really did kick him where the sun don’t shine. He fell onto the concrete floor, and Jalena kicked him again. “Stop, just STOP!” He shouted. Jalena stopped and glared at Jason. Jason got up and spit some blood on the floor. “I’m not done with you, Darren.” He said. Jalena made a fist, to warn him if he wanted the punch of his life. Jason and the gang backed away and ran to Jason’s van. “That was so cool, Jalena.” I exclaimed. “C’mon, lets just go shopping.” She said.
