Taehyung wanted to meet with his best friend Jeongguk but he was already busy so he decides to go alone. A drink sounds good in combination with dancing the night away.
He enters his favorite bar and before he could fade out all the thoughts from the people inside the rather small bar, he hears his name. 'Taehyung, Tae.'
Of course it could have been any Taehyung but the voice, it's so familiar and without any doubt he knows that it's Jeongguk's thinking tone.
The youngest of his friends is always careful in front of him as well as the others. Since they know about his ability, they try to not think too much when he is with them.
Taehyung is able to kind of turn them off but not really, he just has to concentrate on other things like the noises of the surrounding more than on the voices.
No one knows why he can hear thoughts, it appeared when he turned sixteen and ever since, he was open about it to people close to him.
Taehyung sits down on a free table and looks around, he spots Jeongguk together with Yoongi on the other side of the room.
Should he listen to the thoughts? Before he could decide, he hears them again. Focuses on Jeongguk's only.
'I think I can trust Yoongi, he's our friend. Maybe he can help me to get over my feelings for Taehyungie.'
He's glad that he's not eating or drinking right now, he'd have choked on it. Jeongguk has feelings for him? Since when and more importantly, why didn't he notice it?
The barkeeper comes and takes the order. Should he talk louder to the man in front of him so that they can hear it or should he listen more. It's a difficult decision, makes his stomach turn a bit.
At the end Taehyung decides to stay hidden and doesn't spy on him anymore, he has heard enough anyway and it's just not right. If Jeongguk wants to move on or confess, he'll be ready either way.
Taehyung leaves the bar before they do, exhales loudly when he is out of the building and on his way home. What should he do now? He has never seen Jeongguk as more than a friend, they know each other since childhood and he's like a younger brother to him.
The days go by, Jeongguk is the same as always but Taehyung has his attention more on him. It's not easy to ignore what he knows, to shake it off and not care about it.
There are little things he has never noticed before. Well, he did notice them but got used to it. Jeongguk's laugh is really cute, his nose and eyes wrinkle and his mouth looks funny. Jeongguk also is really jittery, can't sit still for too long except he's focused on something.
When they play games, the younger's eyes get so big and his mouth hangs open. It's fascinating to see him in an other light now, Taehyung never knew that Jeongguk was his type in looks and interests because it wasn't important before he had found out the secret.
Yoongi watches Taehyung, after the talk with Jeongguk, he wants to make sure that he didn't give him the wrong advice. Something tells him that Taehyung will fall for the younger, now that he knows. Yes, Yoongi had seen him at the bar, his face clearly showed that he had heard Jeongguk's thoughts.
They are all at Seokjin's for a come together, it's been two months since then and Jeongguk notices that things between him and Taehyung have changed. "Yoongs, can we talk for a moment?" He whispers to him.
"Of course, let's go to the bathroom." They get up from the couch and leave.
After locking the door Jeongguk clears his throat. "Thanks."
"Not a big deal Gguk. What's it that you want to talk about?" Yoongi sits down on the edge of the bath tub and crosses his legs.
"You remember when I've asked you for your advice?" Jeongguk nervously walks up and down.
Yoongi nods, wants him to continue.
"Well, is it just me or behaves Taehyung differently. I mean, don't get me wrong, I trust you and I know you didn't tell him anything but it's so weird." He pushes his long hair out of his face and turns to the older. "He's so touchy and sometimes he even sits on my lap. He has never done that before." Jeongguk's eyes are wide when he says that, can't believe it at all.
Yoongi chuckles. "Gguk, isn't that what you've wanted? Taehyung seems to try to tell you something. It's just my opinion but I think you should maybe take the opportunity and make a move."
"I can't, what if I'm getting the signals wrong, our friendship won't be the same anymore. I know he won't drop me but still, it would change things between us and I don't want that." Jeongguk ruffles his hair and immediately fixes it afterwards.
The older stands up and pulls the nervous boy into a hug. "It's the only way to find out. Yes, things will change but as you've already said Taehyung won't stop being your friend."
"I'm so unsure, what would you do? I mean you have a crush on Hoseok, what would you do if you'd be in my situation?" He's not giving up yet.
Yoongi sighs. "Can I be honest?"
Jeongguk nods.
"I would make him drunk and confess. You know what they say, drunk people and children always say the truth." He chuckles.
Jeongguk rolls his eyes but smiles. "Taehyung and alcohol isn't an option. He doesn't drink."
"Maybe you should get drunk and confess or try something. You don't have to get wasted but just enough to remember everything the next day. If his reaction is positive then you can just use it and if it's negative you can say that you don't remember or that you were out of your mind." Yoongi shrugs, he really wants to tell Jeongguk that Taehyung already knows but it would make the youngest panicking even more.
"Okay, I'll try it tonight. Make sure you're not too far away, in case I fuck up." Jeongguk walks to the door after Yoongi rolls his eyes but hums.
