Chapter Five

Shortly after class began. Rose sat there still puzzled and started jotting down notes of what Mark had told her. She then got a text on her cell saying," Rose where have you been? I haven't heard from you since your birthday and I wanted to make sure everything was okay?"

Rose replies," Hey Brittany. I'm sorry I haven't been texting you back I have had a lot on my mind here lately."

Brittany then asks," What all has been going on if you don't mind me asking?"

"Well I got into a fight with Abigail and ended up in jail. Then my mom gave me this super long guilt trip and upset me really bad. Then I met this new guy that makes me feel so special," Rose Replies.

Brittany excitedly replies," Omg I have to meet him. What is he like and I am glad to hear you're over Michael."

Rose then says," I will give the details later I have to get back to the school work."

Brittany then answers," Okay well you be careful and will talk to you later."

After school Rose was approached by a girl that has been at the alternative school for a long time. Her name was Tiffany. Tiffany says to Rose," Hey I see you're new to this school and I would like to help you out as much as I can make a few friends. Do you want to go to our hang out place at the race track?"

Rose answers" Sure why not. I can use a break from home and can use a few friends."

So Rose followed Tiffany to the race track. When she arrived she noticed that Mark was also invited to the track. She sat with a group of about fifteen kids from her new school and just chilled. About an hour later Rose's mom called.

Rose answers the phone" Hi mom," she said.

Her mom replied asking," Rose where are you and when are you coming home? School has been out for a while now and your boyfriend Matt is waiting here for you."

Rose replies," I am on my way. Some of the kids invited me to hang out after school and I met a few new people. I will head home now."

Her mom replies," Okay, I will see you when you get home then. I love you."

Rose says," I love you too and bye."

She hangs up the phone and tells everyone that she has to go home. She gets in her car and starts to head home. Abigail, unknowingly, was hiding in the woods at the hang out and came up to talk to Mark. Abigail took Mark by the hand and asks him," Do you need a ride home?"

Mark replies," Sure, just let me get my things."

Once Mark got into the car Abigail asks him," So how was your day?"

Mark answers," It was pretty good. I talked to Rose for a little bit today and just caught a ride to the hang out. What about you, how was your day?"

Abigail says," Well it's a bit different without some of the people around. There is something I have been meaning to ask you Mark but I have been too shy until now, as she blushes, will you be my new boyfriend?"

Mark looks at Abigail and answers her by saying," It would be my honor to date such a beautiful girl like you."

At about that time Rose arrives home and notices Matt is standing outside waiting for her. With a smile on her face she walked up to him and kissed him softly on the cheek. They walked inside and her mom told them that dinner was on the table and to go ahead in to the dining room and eat. Not long after Dinner there was a knock on the door. Rose got up to answer it and to her surprise saw Kris.

Kris asks Rose," Mind if I come in and talk to you for a while?"

Rose said," Of course come on in."

After talking for a few minutes Kris says," Thank you. I wanted to talk to you about Mark. What all has he told you about?"

Rose replies," It's nothing really. Just some silly story about the four tribes and how each of the tribes had its own animal. I guess you can call it a folk tale."

Kris answers," Well it is getting late so I better be home. Have a good evening."

Rose replies," You too."

Not long after Kris had let a car then pulls up into the driveway and Brittany got out of it. She ran up and hugged Rose stating," I missed you so much. It has been a while since we have hung out in a long time."

Rose said," It has been a while. I see that you're hyper as always."

Brittany answers," Well you know how I get around energy drinks. I am like addicted to them."

Out of the corner of her eye Brittany saw a huge bug and jumped back yelling," Kill it, kill it."

Rose looked around and saw that the bug had flown off.

Brittany than says," So tell me about this new guy. What is he like?"
