"Life at Hogwarts had always been eventful with Weston Hayes around."

First day of the his fourth year at Hogwarts, and it was going great. So far.

The Great Hall was buzzing with the announcement of the Triwizard Tournament.

Weston was sitting at the Hufflepuff table with his friends, leaning his head on Cedric's shoulder for a moment before snorting out a laugh. "Stacy, I have never heard a more ridiculous story than that." He said, taking a bite of his buttered toast.

Stacy's eyes widened and she shook her head. "But it did happen! I promise!" She paused to take a sip of her pumpkin juice. "Helga, you never believe me," she said downtroddenly, cupping her face with her hands.

Weston smiled, shaking his head and shoved the rest of his toast in his mouth. With his mouth full, he said, "Sorry, Stace. I just find it hard to believe that a dragon egg hatched in your chimney. Where did it even come from? How did you not notice it?" He asked.

Cedric smirked, elbowing Weston. "Knowing Stacy, it probably came from her." Stacy indignantly huffed, spreading marmalade on her toast.

Weston laughed, running a hand through his hair. "You guys are a handful."

Cedric raised an eyebrow. "Speak for yourself."

Hayes shrugged, standing up. "Right. Well, I'll be at the library if you need me. I need to find a book for Potions. We know how horrid I am at that." He waved at Stacy and Cedric before walking swiftly out of the Great Hall.

Weston had met Cedric his second year when Diggory was running from a few first year girls. He had convinced them that Cedric had gone to the library and they went searching for him there. Cedric had owed him ever since; he had met Stacy, on the other hand, when she was searching for Professor Trewlaney's classroom. She hadn't known where it was, except for the fact that it was in a tower. Weston had helped her out. So Stacy and Cedric both began hanging out with Hayes ever since. They stuck together, and they all were majorly prideful of their house, Hufflepuff, another one of their similarities.

Weston reached the library, and greeted the librarian before he began searching for his book. He went through the aisles of mahogany wood bookcases, taking in the gentle smell of ink and dust. He loved the mood the library set, especially since he was a secret bookworm. He always came in here to check out a novel or story to read.

Recently, he had read Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. He had found it incredibly interesting, and found himself rereading it over and over. Hayes had taken a particular interest in the Hungarian Horntail, although the author of the book, Newt Scamander, didn't say too much about them but Weston thought it was the most strange of all of the creatures. He was attracted to it's fierce, aggressive nature, although he hadn't the slightest idea why. Maybe it was the dragon's recklessness or it's confidence that it could do anything that drew Weston to it. Oh, how he wanted to see one, eventually. For now, though, he was fine with reading about it.

Perhaps one day he could meet a dragon. But for now, there was one person who was so close to a dragon that they might as well be one. Draco Malfoy. Of course, Weston didn't know this yet. He was too happy to look at anything terrible and let it stay terrible.

Speak of the devil, there he was as Weston turned the corner. However, not only was Draco there, but Pansy, Blaise, and Neville Longbottom. Usually, this would be quite a strange sight, seeing the Slytherins with Neville.

Yet, things never changed, as they were practicing jinxes on poor Neville, who stood there, trying to defend himself but failing miserably.

"H-hey, stop that, or I'm going to - to - hex you back!" Neville said in a hushed whisper, as he was the only one who seemed to note that they were in a library.

Draco snickered. "Aw, snivelling bottom is going to hex us? I'm so scared!" He cried in mock terror, then rolled his eyes. "Why don't you just go- "

He was cut off by Weston stepping forward, wand aimed at Malfoy. Before Draco had time to comment, Weston recited a spell that was quite effective on bullies. "Everte Statum!"

Draco flew into the wall, and the librarian rushed over, apparently just now realizing what was going on.

"All of you, to the headmaster's office, now!"

Draco stood up, then wrinkled his nose at the librarian before walking out into the hallway with his friends, Neville following behind like a lost puppy.

Draco sauntered up to Weston as he walked into the hallway, shoving him. "Learn to stay in your place, Hufflepuff." He growled.

Weston rolled his eyes, staring Draco down. "My place happens to be near success and a prosperous future, something you clearly wouldn't know about, as you just practically threw it away. That was like your twelfth fight you've gotten in this year! And why were you being rude to Neville in the first place?"

Malfoy lost his temper again, shoving Weston more harshly. "None of your business, Hayes. Now back off before I make you."

Weston smirked, then walked ahead of the others. "Oh, like I made you a minute ago? I highly doubt a pea sized brain like yours could even comprehend how to make me, if you tried. Anyways, good day, everyone! Oh, and Draco, your fly is open." He turned the corner swiftly, leaving the Neville laughing as justice had been restored.

Draco quickly looked down, then saw Weston was lying, and growled.

"I hate Hufflepuffs."
