"It's cold. Why are we here Saira?" I asked as I endlessly rub my arms that's covered in a thick leather jacket that now has fresh powder on it. Saira just stared at me with her viciously striking blue eyes and turned away, not bothering to answer. She took baby steps in the snow, towards a park along our way. Saira beams at me once she spots our destination, she takes my hand and forcefully drags me there. "I asked you a question, little sis." I look down at her before sticking my tongue out. Saira huffs and turns to me. "I'm just taking you to the park."

"At this ungodly hour? Really?" I asked with my voice laced with disbelief. "Yes. Now come with me, it's important." She said no more, and I didn't even bother continuing. We made our way to park as the snow gracefully drops all around us. "Remind me again why I went with you here." I yawned. It's about 4 AM and my sister takes me at the park, while it's heavily snowing down everywhere. "I can be pretty persuasive, and-- well because I dragged you out of bed at 4 AM- but that's not the point! Just come along with me. You're wasting time."

I shook my head while walking behind her with my hands on her shoulders. She gratefully took my hands with hers, mine still on her shoulders, as she led me to a really, dark area. "I can't see a thing." I stated while I pray my eyes would quickly adjust to the darkness. Saira removes one of her hands and takes out a flashlight, before handing it to me. "Thanks." I took the flashlight from her small hands and turned it on. I can only see the snow with our footprints, some dead trees, and Saira herself. She points over to one giant tree, a dead one of course, and we walk over.

"Turn off the flashlight. It's a surprise." she declared as I turned the flashlight off. A thick eerie silence filled the air. I ran a hand through my messily chocolate brown hair and tried to look around. I was tugged onto the floor by my right arm, and I land on the hard packed pile of snow. "Surprise!" voices called out and cheered. Wearing a confused look on my face, I get up effortlessly before looking around. The faces seem familiar, until I can fully take in the light all around with candles. I forgot, it's the time of month where we all give gifts to the person who doesn't remember we do this every year during winter. Ahem, this year it was me.

"Hi Alex!" my mom chirped and enveloped me into a bear hug. "Hey, mom." I grinned at her. I was greeted by other people that goes to my school as well. This tradition thing was with some family members, students, school staff, all that jazz. We sat in a giant circle to fit everyone, as it was time to give their gifts to me. I felt special, at this hour. When I received all my gifts, everyone scattered away to the tables that the food was placed. I spent my time putting my gifts neatly into the car and walked back to where the circle was once formed.

I notice there was only one other person there besides me. She was busy texting until she heard me approaching her. "Hiya!" she exclaimed and jumped up as her dark brown curls bounced. She walked over to me, extending a hand. I just looked at her, I'm not really good at making friends, they just come to me. I nod to her and just look at her hand. "Well? Are you going to give me a handshake or not?" she once again spoke. My eyes widen and I quickly put my right hand in hers. My hands were fairly big compared to her small ones.

"Name is Kessiah Ashleigh Ryder. How about yours, pretty boy?" Wow, she's not afraid to speak her mind, and she's pretty confident. I took a moment of hesitation before speaking. "I-I'm Alexander Emery.. Jensen.." I said shyly as I looked down at my feet. Hey, I'm not good with girls either. I'm a strange, shy boy. I get it. "You're cute." she pats my head. "I declare you as my new friend." she fistpumps me out of nowhere. "You're also shy. Don't you ever talk?"

Yes, yes I do, for your information. Just not to strangers who randomly gives me their name and says I'm there new friend.

Setting my thoughts aside, I nod at her and she smiles. "I've never noticed you before. Are you new?" Kessiah asked me. I shook my head, no. She ponders for awhile, "Oh! Are you that kid that always smiles and always hang out by the front part of the school with your friends?" I nodded my head and she jumps in excitement. "Well, now you have a new member joining in your group." she announced proudly as I just stare at her with amusement.

"I'll talk to you later, pretty boy." she muttered and confidently strolled away to get a giant piece of fried chicken. Kessiah is weird, I've never noticed her either. My thoughts were interrupted by my sister as she dragged me into the car with my gifts in the trunk. "Buckle up. We're going home." We both yawned and stretched. Saira took off headed home for the day. Or morning I should say.

Saira turned on the radio to a One Direction song and she immediately sang along. I chuckle and look out the window. The snow is going down hard, it's getting everywhere. "Hey, Saira?" I asked. "Hmm?" she hummed. "Do you know a girl named Kessiah?" I look down at my hands that are fiddling with each other. "Oh, yeah. The new chick right?" she answered. "Uh.. I think so?" I responded. "Why you ask? You got a lil' crush?" Saira teased. I facepalm, "No. Now pay attention to the road."

"She picked up a lot of things, she barely enrolled a few days before break." Saira told me. "Cool beans." I answered. "Yeah, yeah. Whatever Alex." she waved me off and continued humming to the song as her eyes peeled to the road.

I lay down in my bed, focusing on my laptop. I quickly check my Facebook before going to sleep. There was a new friend request for me. I actually have friends, shocker. I click the icon, and it is none other than, Kessiah. How does this girl find me? I run a hand through my hair in frustration and click 'Accept'. I close my laptop and close my eyes. I drifted slowly to sleep, starting to dream happily.

I was starting to enter a deep, deep slumder when I was interrupted by something being thrown at my window. I frown and get up, pulling the white curtains aside. I open my window and l look around scowling. "Pretty boy! Why are you not smiling?" My head snaps down to the direction of the voice. I wave politely with an uncertain face. "Ugh, I want to hear you talk again. Am I bothering you?" Her voice laced with concern and I shake my head. Her face lits up as soon she saw my gesture. I study her small, petite figure. Her brown locks cascade down her back, covered on top by a grey beanie. She's wearing a white v-neck with a thick, fluffy jacket. Kessiah had black tights and brown boots on. She looks very beautiful.

I smile at her as she runs home, probably. I close my window, pull the curtains back to their original place, and crash down to bed.
