"Oi, Jesus friggin' Christ. Why do you keep hogging all the cookies?" I hissed at Saira. She was happily munching all the chocolate chip cookies as we were in the living room. She dropped so many crumbs that our house could be filled in them by now. "Hey! No I'm not!" Saira protested and threw a cookie at my face. I shook my head in amusement and turned on the television. I started watching one of the Harry Potter movies until the she-devil shoved a giant cookie down into my black t-shirt and grey plaid pyjamas.
I glare at her direction and kick her lightly. Saira fell over onto her side with a bunch of cookies and crumbs dropping down at her. She looked at them with disbelief and started whining. "Stop whining, please. I'm trying to watch here." I complained. My mom walked in the living room from the kitchen and stared down at the now dirty white carpet. "You should eat with a plate. You're messing up my beautiful carpet!" mom cried. I sigh, "Sorry mum. It's all Saira's fault." I quickly run up the grand staircase and dash into the halls, descending into my room.
I panted and lock the door. "Saira's totally going to murder me and lick my bones clean." I muttered. I turn around to face my room, seeing that I must have forgotten to close the window. The curtains were wide open too. "Agh." I facepalmed and closed it. I stepped around my room barefoot, touching the cold polished wooden floor. Hearing a creak in the closet, my head snaps into the direction where the noise must have came from. I frown and my eyebrows knit together. I walked slowly and open the door wide open quickly.
"Ow, dude!" a voice whined. I cocked an eyebrow and turned on the lights of my walk-in closet. Yes, dudes can have them too. I see none other than Kessiah herself, whimpering on the white sofa in the middle of the closet. I was about to speak up, but she interjected. "I know, I know. I know you're going to ask 'What are ya doing here?" I firmly nod and she continues. "Well, I was hoping to take you out for some coffee. Doesn't coffee sound good in this weather?" I give her a small smile and offer her a hand. She takes my hand, "Thank you. Now get dressed." she leaves the closet and closes the door.
I quickly change into simple white t-shirt with a thick grey jacket on top. I put on some jeans and a pair of my black Vans. I open the door and I see Kessiah looking at some of my pictures that I placed on the wall. "I like this one. It's cute!" she exclaimed. I chuckle and I lead her out the door. "Why don't you ever talk?" she asked with her voice full with curiosity. I shrug and take a step out from the front door.
We drove-- I mean I drove us to a nearby coffee shop that's homey and all. I always went here when I was younger, it's my second home. I open the glass door for her and lead us to a booth. A waiter came by the second we sat down, "May I take your order?" Kessiah ordered a latte for both of us and we waited for it to come back. There was an awkward silence, well maybe for me only. She decided to speak up, "So, Alexander, huh?" I hummed a yes. "I don't think you noticed, but I'm a new student." I nodded again, focusing into our conversation. Our lattes came and she began to talk again.
"Listen, don't think this as if it's a date, because it's not. I don't do boyfriends." she sipped from her cup. I nodded in agreement with a agreeing hand gesture. I also felt the same, I have no interest in girls, it's weird, but it makes me safe. I take a napkin and get out a pen and scribble down a few words. 'I know, I feel the same with every girl. I take no interest in them.' I slide the napkin down to her and she reads it. She stifles a laugh, "Oh really? So you don't take an interest in me? Are you gay then? No offence to people that are though." I widen my eyes and began to brainstorm on what I can say, because there's a jumble of words I can't put into a sentence.
"Relax dude. I'm kidding." she admitted. A sigh of relief came out from me. I didn't want a girl to think I was taking an interets in the same sex as I. She lightly punches my shoulder, "You're too cute, pretty boy, you know?"
I silently do some of my homework that's due when we get back from break, but I keep getting distracted. Kessiah keeps crossing my mind, and no, not in a good love-romance thing way. But in a creepy way. She knew where I lived, she even broke inside and hid in my closet! I shook my head and finished off my work and went to the kitchen. "Blah, blah, blah." I mumbled as I took the milk gallon and poured half into a glass. I walked over to the kitchen island and set the glass of milk there. "Saira?" I called out. Usually my house is loud because of her, thus the reason why I'm calling her.
I hear nothing and shrug it off. She might be sleeping, or at a friend's house. Blah, whatever.
I drink the milk and set it aside. I was getting bored, it's too quiet. I took my phone out and called my best friend, Nick. After 2 rings, he finally answered. "Heyo Alex. Need anything?"
"No, just calling because I'm now a troll that lives in the deep, deep forest." I heard Nick laugh in the distance and he began talking again. "Yeah, cool. Do you know the new girl, Kessiah or something like that?" My eyebrows shot up, "Actually, I do. Why do you ask?" I fiddled with my fingers as I put my phone on speaker.
"She said I'm her new 'snuggle bear' and she gets to hug me every time she sees me." Nick groans in frustration. "Ah, the awesome, weird girl also said something to you." I commented. "Yep, she even asked me about you, and why you don't talk." Nick said. "I told her the reason you don't talk that much is because you have a beetle stuck in your throat and it has babies when you speak."
My lips twitch into a smile and I finally said something after 3 minutes. "Bye you piece of anal crustiness."
