Ddm- Heart transplant

Age-15

You have a pretty bad heart, you've had heart problems all your life.
Recently the problems had gotten worse so the doctors had put you on a heart transplant list.
They had recently found a match.

You was waiting in the hospital to spending some time with your dad before your surgery. Your mum had left you with your dad when you were born.

"What if something goes wrong?" You panicked.
"Princess, I promise you that you'll be fine" your dad said reassuring you.
"We are ready for you" The doctor said entering the room.
"You know I love you, right baby?" Your Dad said.
You nodded.
"I love you too daddy" you said.

The heart transplant went great, and you would no longer have heart problems.

You woke up in the hospital room and looked around.
Your dad was nowhere to be seen but your grandma Maura and your grandpa Bobby were sat crying.

"Grandma? Grandpa? What's wrong? Where's daddy" you asked tiredly.
You were always clingy towards your dad when you were tired.

My grandma and grandpa looked at you and my grandpa gave you a folded up piece of paper.
"What's this?" You said.
"And where's Dad?" You asked.
"Just read it love" your grandpa said.

You unfolded the note which said.

To my beautiful little princess

If you're reading this it means the surgery went well and you'll always have a piece of me with you, my heart.
You'll have no more problems you can live a trouble free life with no worries.
You were never told who's heart you were getting but you know now. Keep yourself safe and well, my little girl. We will see each other again, someday. You're uncle Greg can take over my job and make sure you stay away from boys. Don't make this stress you out or upset you too much, make me proud baby girl. I love you so much, don't ever forget that. I couldn't have asked for a better daughter, raising you up until Now was an honour my little princess.

You burst in tears.
"Daddy! No!" You sobbed.

Your grandpa sat on your hospital bed and wrapped an arm around you, pulling you into his chest. Exactly the way your dad used to comfort you.

"Where am I going to live?" You sobbed.
"I can't be without him!" You cried.
"I need him!"

"Calm down sweetheart, we know you're upset and there's nothing wrong with that, you will probably live with me and your grandma, you made your dad so proud, every time he came to visit when you were at school he would constantly talk about you and how proud he is of who you've become because of him raising you. He loved you so so much, I thought he wouldn't love anyone more than your mum, but then she broke his heart, when she was in labour and then you came along and gave him a reason to be happy. I've never seen him look at anyone the way he looked at you when he held you. No matter what, he will always be looking down on us smiling at who you will become." He said.

You smiled slightly through your tears.
"He gave up his life to save mine" You cried .
"Yes, he did sweetie, but that proves how much he loved you, your his daughter, he'd do anything to save you even if that means losing his life. That's what good fathers and maybe mothers  do, if Greg or Niall were in your condition at any age I would do the exact thing Niall did. I know it's made a lot of people upset but I know that Niall died happily because he knew that he was going to save his little girls life" Your grandma said.
