"Alright. So i promised id help you. When on this living earth did that include going miles past the complex into god knows where?!" Reimaru complained.
Earlier that morning, Hashirama hustled her out of bed and into hiking gear, then outside. She was exhausted and out of breath, and tired of being kept in the dark. Haru padded on happily beside them, unaffected. In fact, this was just one overly long walk, and he loved to explore.
"Oh this isn't so bad." He said, turning around to give her one of his grins. "Besides, we're almost there."
"Almost where though? You haven't said where we're going or what we're doing?" She asked, nearly falling as her foot caught on a tree root. She caught herself on the rough bark of said tree, but it scraped her palm.
"Yeah that's the point. Its a surprise!"
"...... I hate surprises." She muttered darkly, wiping her palm on her clothes.
Hashirama said nothing as they continued, the only sounds in the air was Haru's various noises and the sounds of life, trickling here and there past the screen of brush and trees.
Eventually, the trees thinned out, revealing a large plain, stretching out to the edge of the horizon, a plateau raising to Reimaru's left side.
Haru barked suddenly, rushing off in pursuit of a rabbit that bounced frantically across the large grass feild, its brilliant white puff of a tail popping up then disappearing as it tried to escape its predator.
Reimaru laughed at Haru, watching him. Then she turned her attention to their surroundings. " I don't believe i have been here before. " She commented, crossing her arms.
"Well i should hope not." Hashirama grumbled slightly, his lightly aired tone off-putting his attempted seriousness. "This is one of the very few places in the land of fire that hasn't been affected by the battles the Senju and the Uchiha have waged. Its a miracle, really. But i thought it was fitting."
"Fitting for what, exactly?" Reimaru asked, taking the opportunity to sit down and rest her feet, which ached from the hiking.
"Well, fitting for the Uchiha and Senju (and anyone else of course) to come together. " He said, standing still, but eagerly looking out.
"I see. Come together... How exactly?" She asked, her attention became distracted as Haru bounded up to her and collapsed into her lap, squeezing her breath from her. "Gosh dang it Haru...." She muttered, rubbing the wolf's face. She was glad he hadn't managed to catch the rabbit, for he would have gotten blood on her clothes.
"By creating a new system, a new Shinobi system. One that doesn't thrive on the death of others. You said that we would have to create something stronger then the bond of clan, right?" Hashirama asked her, seemingly eager about some idea. Reimaru nodded.
"Yes. People need something to give their loyalty to. If not a clan, or family, there's got to be something there." She reinforced.
"Well, then how about a Village? One dedicated to the protection of the land of fire, as a whole. " Hashirama suggested, proud.
Reimaru considered his idea, nodding. "You'd have to come up with a system to run said village. " She pointed out.
He nodded in agreement. "I have a few ideas. I was hoping Madara could help with the rest."
"Madara? Why him?" Reimaru asked, taking a keen intrest in Haru's ears.
"Well, the entire focus to this is to basically combine our two clans. Im the leader of the Senju, he's the leader of the Uchiha, therefore if we both are involved in the creation of a new system its bound to work better then if it where one sided. Besides, me and Madara, when we where kids dreamed of a future like this. " He explained, finally taking a seat. "I'm sure he'll want to have a say as well"
Reimaru squinted at her brother. "Well this is the first ive heard about that part of your childhood." She said with a note of accusation.
Hashirama chuckled. "It'll have to wait. He's due here soon, wouldn't have time to finish the tale."
Reimaru's face paled considerably. " You don't mean Madara is coming here too? Now? " She sputtered, her squint turning to a full glare directed towords Hashirama.
"What? Is there something wrong with that perchance?" He asked, a teasing edge to his voice.
Reimaru ducked her head, scowling. Haru snored peacefully on her lap ".... No." She muttered.
"Good!" Hashirama said cheerfully, deliberately ignoring his sister's sudden sullenness.
It made her uneasy, she wondered how Hashirama could be so calm. Well he did mention they used to be friends... She pondered, resting her elbows on her knees, avoiding Haru. He rustled a bit, shifting in his nap.
Probably dreaming about a rabbit.
Reimaru envied Haru, lost in a world of comfort and peace. She lost track of time as she watched her friend sleep peacefully, rousing in his sleep periodically.
The sun blazed in the middle of the sky before any change appeared in their surroundings. A figure emerged from the far end of the field, at first an odd shaped blob of black, but soon to be revealed a horse and its rider, both dressed in black.
Reimaru squinted at the rider, recognizing him. Oh good grief. She thought to herself. I guess i really did have a run in with Madara then. And why on earth be head to toe in all black? That's got to be suffocating...
She self consciously tugged on her own dull light blue tunic. It reflected the days heat fairly well. It didn't take too long for the horse to cross the field, the animal one of high spirits. Haru jolted up, staring at the large creature. It pranced, and tossed its head proudly, even held a prideful glint in its eye as its rider dismounted.
"Madara!" Hashirama greeted, obviously pleased. Haru hopped up and plodded over to the horse, sniffing curiously, and shying when the equine stomped the ground in annoyance. He then went over to inspect Madara.
Reimaru pushed herself up, and went to stand next to her brother, keeping her gaze cast slightly down. Haru, after completing his investigation, sat next to Reimaru and panted happily, content.
"It is nice to again, stand on equal footing, Hashirama." Madara responded, his voice having a dark and rich complexion that had escaped her notice before.
"I agree. It's been too long." Hashirama said cheerfully. "Let me properly introduce my sister, Reimaru. Though i do believe you two are already aquitted?"
Reimaru flushed and muttered too low for anyone to make out her words. Thow me under the blasted tree why dont you? She thought irritably, before coughing to clear her voice. She raised her gaze to meet Madara's. "Hello again." She said pleasently, trying to ignore her heated face.
He chuckled a bit in response, "it's a pleasure to meet you formally, Miss Reimaru." He said to her. Easily catching her right hand, he raised it to his lips, a nobleman's greeting.
Flatterer She thought, avoiding his intense gaze, her irritableness growing.
I'll be glad to get home.
