Once upon a time seems like too simple a way to start a story which weaves through the lifelines of all of us for eternity; but still, many stories start as such, so without further adieu:
Once upon a time there were two almighty and powerful beings: the Sun Goddess and the Moons God. The Sun Goddess was full of light, her bright hair both ravishing the sky with its glow, and looking soft as the beams that floated to earth from her namesake's cosmic entity. The long locks of hair wrapped around all the living potential in the universe. Her smile, which came frequently, and her bubbling laugh flowed about her, intoxicating any element- animate or inanimate- within range.
The Moons God quickly fell in love with her angelicacies- the smooth, glowing skin about her heart shaped face; the freckles that lightly caressed her as if each was placed by a gentle lover's kiss; the way she was full of energy so that light flicked around her with every movement; and especially how one look into her deep emerald eyes could move you to the core. She would connect with you in a way only one so full of life and love could.
The Moons God was not without his own stunning features. He had soft brown hair which all o space seemed to ruffle through. His deep brown eyes carried golden flecks to counter hers with silver. To her flitting and twirling about came his stability and solidarity. Yet he was just as alluring with his sharp cheekbones and softer, but just as defined, jaw. He could connect with others just as well as the Sun Goddess, but where she understood, he could manipulate.
And they were intimately, and infinitely drawn to each other.
Their love was all consuming and strong, an as they came to the brink of their shared passion their connective abilities mingled and brought about the power of creation. In that first night the Earth and its original intelligent occupants were formed: animals, an more profoundly- humans. The God and Goddess were so pleased in their creation and reveled in it, cherishing every life without blemish.
But as their love grew stronger, and their connection deeper, they became unable to control their ability. You see, that first time they connected, a powerful mark of ancient meaning of times before even these beings appeared on their left wrist. It was a sun and a moon intertwined. It represented their connectedness and oneness for time and all eternity. This became troublesome as the jealous Prince of Stars slit the Sun Goddess' wrist with a sacred dagger. They could no longer connect without being destructive or creating magnificent beasts and ferocious monsters.
The hows of the Moons God created lupins, nd hus gnashing teeth created vampyres. The tears of the Sun Goddess bristled into faye, and from her enragement arose dragons. Other such creatures were created as her stomping feet made dwarves, and his throwing of boulders created storms of giants. Finally, the shedding of blood from her wrist, and the injuries of the scath between the Moons God and Prince of Stars dripped some abilities and sacred powers into the human bloodline, unbeknownst to them.
After this fateful day, it was prophesied from the monks on the rings of saturn that until the human forms of the God and Goddess came to earth, and defeated the Brother, they could not be reunited, and the inhabitants of earth would spiral further into misery and dismay.
And so our story begins.
