Georgie.

Recovery is just a word. Some say it is strong, some say it is scary. It means a great many things.
She has never heard of it.

.

You see, women are the subtle waves that wash the shores clean. They are gentle and kind and only the worthy are allowed to see it. She can heal you. She can cleanse you. You need only ask.

.

She holds the hand of the little one. Nameless it is. She is yet to reach the specific destination. The car is parked at the end of the road. She wants to leave the little one in it. Maybe it would be safer there. Then again, no where is safe.

.

She says to the little one that she will be back very soon. That is a lie and both know it. The little one just nods and smiles. She smiles back but that quickly fades. She has to go in now. This one is not a regular, she thinks. She has no choice in the matter.

Safety is a vision that is alien to her. She has heard of it yes, but never experienced. She has no idea what it may be but she would love to see it. Abandoned by her family, who chose to sell her at age twelve. She travelled here and there but never brought back. She doesn't know whom to trust. The little one is too young. She has no family. She has no friends. Just the nameless little one that she tends.

.

The little one runs up and down the stairs. It finds this amusing and fun. It is laughing and laughing because this is it's play time so it doesn't hear the mother screaming.

.

She is driving and the little one sits next to her in the old car. Tears are rolling down her cheeks. She keeps at the speed. She doesn't care who's behind her. She suddenly hits another car, she can smell the petrol leaking. She holds the hand of the little one and thanks for the life she has had.
