The MirrorNet at Ever After High is practically down, which would not be a huge discomfort to tolerate for the time being if Rumpelstiltskin didn't have an online test waiting for his students that has to be finished that day. The students panic and get Dexter Charming and Humphrey Dumpty to help the MirrorNet back online. However, the two tech-savvy boys have no clue what is going on either. The best course of action Dexter can think of is that they find all heavy users and turn off their systems to see if that helps.
The first they visit is Daring Charming, whose uploading a huge number of high quality photos of himself. Dexter quickly shuts down his brother's MirrorPad and the group rushes on to Melody Piper's room. As predicted, she's downloading an endless number of songs. Her MirrorPad's also is turned off, with the group then making their way to Blondie Lockes' MirrorCast upload center. Like Daring and Melody before, Blondie is not happy when her activity is messed with. The group isn't very happy either, because even after all that, the MirrorNet is still down.
As a final idea, Dexter proposes that they'll go up the MirrorNet tower to see if the problem is located there. To the surprise of all, they find someone else sabotaging the equipment at the top. To the surprise of none, it's Professor Rumpelstiltskin. As always looking for ways to force the students to spin his straw into gold, Rumpelstiltskin ruined the MirrorNet connection specifically so they couldn't take the test. He still gloats at first, until the students remind him that the headmaster and other teachers also are affected. Between the choice to being told on or the choice to re-schedule the test to a later date as well as fix the MirrorNet personally, Rumpelstiltskin angrily picks the latter.
