"Why are you going again?" Jenny asked me, for the millionth time.

"Because my aunt is paying for the round trip, because my parents want to get rid of me for the summer, I don't know," I say as I unplug my phone from the wall.

"I used to go every summer, to Australia, I don't remember it ever not being fun," I sigh.

"What the hell am I supposed to do though? Garden?!" Jenny yells and I laugh at the thought of Jenny, my beautiful, but very high maintenance best friend, gardening.

"Jess, we HAVE to leave now!" I hear my mom bellow from downstairs.

Jenny and I walk down the stairs and she helps me put my bags in the trunk.

"Text me everyday," she chokes "I'll be so bored here."

I laugh, she will not be bored. Jenny is gorgeous. Blonde hair, light blue eyes, tan skin, thin, and about 5'7". She will have boys begging her to attend their parties and girls asking her to accompany them at the mall so they can have her advice. She makes me feel so plain. She tells me I'm prettier though, she's so cute.

"I'll probably want to skype you everyday," i admit, "I don't really have pals in Sydney and my aunt still has to work weekdays."

"Deal!" she shouts as she takes me in for a hug.

Jenny's still waving as my parents pull out of our drive way and start heading for the airport... Gosh, I'm going to miss her. All summer in Sydney? It'd be cool for like 2 weeks maybe, but ALL SUMMER?

We arrive at the aiport and I have a quick goodbye with my parents because they have dinner plans.

It doesn't take long for my flight to board, so I settle down in my window seat as the flight attendant starts to go through all the emergency exit junk and ends with "We will be having a smooth flight from Seattle to Sydney."

Gosh. Bye Seattle.

-------------------

I'm awaken by the small chatter among the plane and the burning sun shining through my window. Even though this plane is well airconditioned, I can feel how hot it is outside. It takes a while to get off the plane, but once I do, I head straight to luggage retrieve and get my suitcase. The airport is open and the heat practically chokes me.

I spot my aunt right away. She's still so cute, so fit, probably from all the yoga she does. Her light brown hair is pulled up and she's holding up a sign that says "JESS" on it with a bunch of childish stickers. I can't help but to laugh.

"You've grown so much!" she says as she takes me in for a hug.

"I've missed you!" I say from under her tight embrace.

"Sorry it's so early, but I have to run you back to the house, and then I'm off to work. I hope that's okay" she gave me a worried look, I could tell she felt bad about having to work while I'm here but I really don't mind. She owns an awesome link of venues around Sydney and I know if any band that I like comes along I'll get to go for free and probably meet them.

"It's totally fine, I'm quite jet legged anyway" I say with a sincere smile

-----------------------

We pull up to her house and I forgot how cute it is. It's quite big for being just for her, but oh well.

"You are welcomed to anything and the pool is out back if you wanna cool off, but I've gotta run! Love you bunches and I'm so happy you're here" she shouts out before she walks out the door.

I try to take a nap but the heat is eating me away. I'm so not used to this, I'm used to a very cool and cloudy Seattle. I slip into my bikini and grab a towel and head out back.

"Ahhhhh," I breathe out as I slip into the cool water. I chill like this for a second before I hear a few voices and laughs from over the fence next door. I listen for a bit and it sounds like a few boys are kicking around a soccer ball?
