CHAPTER 1The world was dark and it was filled with negativity which stood as thrones in front of me. It was completely dark except for the ray of light coming from the candle I'm holding to reach my destination. Darkness surrounded me from everywhere and I tried to be confident and took another step ahead. The thorns pricked my feet and I cried as I saw the red blood. Then my eyes only could see red and blood was dripping from my hands. Then there were two bodies lying dead there and the sound of police siren filled my ears.
"Please, don't take them away." I cried as I woke up from the nightmare and clutched the bed mattress tightly. I was sweating badly and took a deep breath to calm down from another terrible night. I have seen it again and the last time I saw was yesterday night. It was everyday torture.
The death of my parents crumpled me down. They were the only family I had with my sister and now they don't exist in this world anymore.
It's been three years after that and I'm still not okay. They were my world and when they left it was like there was no meaning of living at all. Tears streamed on my cheeks and I was sobbing the next moment. I don't know how long I cried there lying on my bed, but maybe when my eyes refused to leave any more tears out.
I reached out to the bedside table and took my phone. I called the only person who had always been there with me as my support system. It rang a few times until I heard the sleepy voice of my best friend.
"Hey, are you okay?" Amy asked me as soon as she picked up and I could hear the shuffling of the sheets. I felt bad for calling her in the middle of the night, but I needed her at the moment.
"I saw another nightmare and I couldn't sleep," I admitted and it was not like I kept any secret from her. She knew every little thing about me like I know her.
Amy and I met at school in the junior year. I always preferred to stay away from everyone. I liked my shell and it was paradise. I always believed that I can manage everything alone with my parents beside me. My sister, Kiara wasn't a fan of me and from what she has spread about me limited them from approaching me. So, even if anyone tried to make friends with me, I would dodge their questions and walk out. I was fine by myself.
But there was sometimes I wished I had my own group of friends to hang out and laugh together. When I saw Amy, the new girl who was so sweet and chirpy but innocent and naïve I wanted to befriend her. She didn't realize that the person whom she believed as her loyal boyfriend, Matt was cheating behind her back. I knew it when once I saw him with a blonde in the janitor's closet. I wanted to help her and pretending like I didn't know anything was tough and hard. I approached her with a solid proof and she broke down into my arms. She talked and I listened to her and just like that on the way a tight friendship was built which was unbreakable.
"Worse than last night?" She asked and I told her about it. It was almost every day when I would wake up from a nightmare and I would call her.
She would be here the next moment and we will speak or more she will speak to distract me until my eyelids felt heavy. She is the best and I don't know what I would do without her. She hung up after telling she will reach soon.
I sighed and tossed in the bed trying to get the picture out of my mind. It was a usual night and I stayed at Amy's house to do homework and my parents offered to pick me up. When I got the call from that they were at the end of the street and I said goodbye to her and waited for them but the car never turned up. And when I walked further only when I saw the car crashed into a tree. My eyes blurred and I felt like the ground beneath me would slip but it never happened. My parent's cold body without any heartbeat was lying there and I felt the bile rise. There was someone who already called the police and ambulance. They reached there in the next second.
