That night

"Where the hell have you been at ?" I sighed , sitting my bag down next to the loveseat . I had just got home and my mom wanted to find something to bicker about already .

"I was at work picking up a few more hours and I also went to pay the light bill ,"

"I was going to pay it myself . You don't got to act like you runnin' shit around here ," I rolled my eyes to myself . I'd never disrespect my mom , but I sure as hell wanted to give her a Piece Of My Mind .

"I don't think I'm running anything , but somebody got to pick up the slack around here and I'm not gone leave everything on Lontay ,"

"Don't Get Smart with me . I'm the one that's been raising all three of y'all for the past 20 years . You and Lontay can get the fuck out ," I laughed to myself , grabbed my bag , and headed up to my room .

"Maybe I will ," I mumbled as I walked up to my room . I tossed my bag in the corner and put my phone on the charger . "Whew," I Said To Myself . Thank god I had finished all my homework in the library before I went to work because I was exhausted .

            6:45am

  I had walked Lexi to school a few minutes ago and I was on my way to mine . Just as I expected , I rounded the corner , and a car was following behind me .

"Am I goin to have to do this everyday ?" Andre shouted from his car . I chuckled , continuing to walk .

"You didn't have to in the first place ,"

"Come on , You Know I'm Not Gone Let you walk chocolate chip ,"

"Why should I get in ? I don't want any breakfast and I'm capable of walking ," surprisingly , he pulled the car over and got out .

  I hadn't seen how tall he was or how built he was the previous day so I was taken aback . He walked over to me and lightly grabbed my arm . "Come on Ma , I don't wanna have to beg yo ass ," I chuckled .

"Whatever, let's go," he put his hand out for me to go ahead of him . "Don't Be Looking At me While I'm walking ,"

"Can't Help It Ma ," He Said , smirking . I walked over to my side as he went ahead and opened my door .

"Who Knew You Were quite the gentleman ?" I Said as he slid into the drivers seat .

"That's Cause You Never Took the time to get to Know ya boy ," I nodded , in agreement . "You got like 45 Minutes Till Yo School Start , you Sure You Not Hungry ?"

"Nah , I ate at home ,"

"Then let's go somewhere and talk , You Know catch up from the past few years ," once again , I went against my instincts and agreed .

"Where are we going to go talk ?" I asked curiously .

"Your school . That way we won't have to rush off when it's time for you to go ,"

Moments later we pulled up into the parking lot of my school . He parked alongside the fence that surrounded the football stadium .

"So Andre , Talk ,"

"Whatchu' Wanna Know Ma ," He asked . I turned in my seat and faced him , thinking of some questions to ask .

"What have you been doing with your life the past few years ?" I Asked . He sighed and sat back in his seat .
