"Really?" He said, his eyes widening in surprise. "From where?"
"From high school." I say, my cheeks heating up yet again.
He looks at my face closely, pulling down his mask as he gets closer to my face. I gasp, getting a full look at his face.
"Holy crap. He's even more handsome than I remember. Puberty hit him like a freaking bus!" I think to myself. His perfect, soft pink lips curl up into a smile and he looks even more handsome.
"Oh! I remember you now! Has Ji Su bothered you since then?" He says.
"Not since that day!" I say, lifting my chest proudly at the memory of her shocked face when I slapped her across the face.
"I still remember that! I really didn't expect you to do that! But you had me and my guys laughing so hard! And the look on her and her friend's faces were priceless!" He says, bursting out laughing at the memory. I join him in laughing at the memory. I stop once I see him looking at me still smiling. I realised that it was the first time in a while that I laughed.
"How have you been lately?" He asks.
"I've been better," I say, my smile fading.
He looks at me, quietly urging me to continue.
"My parents died five months ago." I say, my voice cracking towards the end.
He looks at me shocked, then his face softens.
"I'm sorry." He says.
"It's ok. It's actually nice to talk to someone about it." I say. "They were out having dinner with some friends. They were driving home and they had the green light, so they went. Then, out of nowhere, a drunk driver ran the red light and slammed right into them. My mother received most of the impact and was killed instantly. My father was airlifted to the hospital, where I met him. He had internal bleeding and it was already too late to get him into surgery. He died as he hugged me for the last time, whispering 'I love you. I always will' into my ear over and over until he died."
I burst out crying as I remember his last words. Yoongi was silent and before I knew it, I felt arms around my waist and someone's head on my shoulder. I turn around and sob into Yoongi's chest, wrapping my arms around his waist. We stay like this for some time before I break the hug.
"I think I'm going to close the shop for tonight." I announce.
"Good idea. You should get some rest." Yoongi says. "I'll see you tomorrow."
"Tomorrow?"
"Yeah. And I'll bring my wallet." He smiles his cute gummy smile at me.
"Okay. I'll see you tomorrow." I say, smiling at him.
"You going to be okay?" He asks.
"Yeah. I only live around the corner." I say. "Besides, I have a few things to do before I go home."
"Alright, I'll see you tomorrow. Bye." He says as he walks backwards toward the door without breaking eye contact with me.
"Bye." I say. He turns around, opens the door, and starts walking down the street. He looks back over his shoulder and smiles at me before disappearing from my line of sight.
I smile softly to myself as I do my regular cleaning around the shop. Half an hour later, I lock the door to the shop and start to walk home. Little did I know, I was being followed.
