There once was a women named Maria. She was the most beautifulest girl in Mexico.
One day while walking in the markets she saw a prince . The prince glanced at her , Maria was just a peasant girl. When he glanced at her he immediately fell in love. They went up to each other and had a long talk .
Soon they would sneak out to see each other. A couple of months had past and the prince finally asked for Maria's hand in marriage. She happily said yes.
Once they were married they had to children a boy and girl. The sad thing is ,the prince's love for Maria was slowly fading. Every time he came home he would give the children gifts but not her.
One day he came home in a carriage with a women. Maria was not pleased. He told the children to pack there things and then he told Maria that he didn't want to be with her anymore. She got mad,she took the children to the nearest river and threw them in there. Killing them instantly, she realised what she had done and threw herself in the water .
Maria's soul was corrupted and so she became la llorona or the Weeping Woman. Every night from that day forward she would pace to the end of the river and back saying " my children, where are my children" and if you are a child she would think your one of her own and she will take you to the under world. That's only if your a child.
