I arrived at the local high school in Beach City. I parked my motorcycle near the school entrance. That should give me enough time to pick up my schedule and get to first period. I quickly glanced around the school. Nothing special about it. Just your typical high school cliques hanging around. Only thing was that a lot of eyes were on me.
"Who's that?" A random high school girl whispers.
"Cool bike." One of the jocks mentions my motorcycle.
"What's a rich kid doing here?" I could hear a cheerleader gossip to her friend. Turning off my Ducati, I removed my helmet. As I was running my fingers through my hair, I could hear gasps from the onlookers.
"You're a girl!?" I turn to see the same boy with his interesting bunch of friends. Their jaws were dropped just like the kid. Steven, was it? I giggled at their shocked expression.
"Yeah. Did you think I was boy because I was riding a motorcycle?" I ask.
"No. We just couldn't see your face through your helmet." The kid responds. The girl quickly parked her car next to my motorcycle. All the guys got off the car and walked over to me. I got off my bike to properly greet them. The kid held out his hand for a high-five and reintroduced himself as Steven.
"Hi, my name is (Y/N)." I gave him a high-five back. The other guys accompanying Steven held out a high-five to me.
"I'm Jenny." The stylish girl introduces herself.
"They call me Sour Cream." The tall, platinum hair guy says.
"Buck Dewey." The guy with triangular shades states. I high-fived all of them back.
"Nice to meet you all." I say.
"We haven't seen you around here. Are you new?" Steven asks politely. Politely as any normal 12-year old would be. Not counting Pepper and Jack.
"I am. My family just moved here from (state). I start school today."
"You go to school?" Sour Cream asks. That's.... a weird thing to ask when I'm standing in front of a high school at this very moment.
"Where did you get that rad shirt, (Y/N)?" Buck asks about my clothes. I look down at the (T-Shirt/Blouse) I'm wearing.
"Uhm... from the (thrift shop/discount) bin. I really just wanted to wear something comfortable." I reply.
"That's cool. Vintage clothes is a nice way to express yourself, especially when you're being carefully about spending your money." Buck answers. Man, and here I thought he might judge me based on my clothes.
"You got a nice bike, a stylish set of clothes, and you're independent. Were have you been in all my life, girl? We should totally hang out sometime!" Jenny remarks while Buck and Sour Cream nod their heads. Wow, making new friends before first period? I think I just set some new record.
"Oh, sure. We can hang out after school." I say. Steven looks to his left.
"Hey, isn't that Lars? Hi, Lars!" Steven points to a random guy with orange curly hair and wearing large ear gauges. Why is he sneaking on us from behind the tree? Steven rushes over to drag him over to us. He seems like he was embarrassed.
"Hey (Y/N). This is Lars. He works at the Big Donut." Steven introduces him.
"Hey Lars." I meekly greet him. I know I should not judge a book by its cover, but the way he acted seemed like a stalker. He only says hi to me. He immediately starts to gain confidence and tries to play it cool. At least for Jenny, Sour Cream, and Buck.
"Hey guys, whatcha doing? Come to see me." Lars asks. The three of them looked at each other, not knowing what to say.
"Actually, we did not know this was your school." Jenny admits to Lars.
"Yeah man. We didn't know you go to school either." Sour Cream adds on.
"Oh." Lars laughs to try to play off his embarrassment. "School sucks. You guys are lucky to don't come here."
"Not really. School's cool. Getting the chance to learn something new is a viable thing. We already done with school." Buck states. Lars looks off to the side and back at us. The bell rang to signal the morning classes are about to begin.
"Oh man, I got to get to the office to pick up my schedule." I mention.
"Hey Lars, since you go to this school, why not show (Y/N) around? It'd be nice for her to have a friend here for her first day." Steven suggests.
"Er... sure... I guess... I can... show her around." Lars says surely. I am wondering if he knows where the office is.
"You can even hang out with us after school. Right guys?" Steven asks Jenny, Sour Cream, and Buck. They shrug their shoulders and nod their heads.
"Awesome." Lars gives a thumbs up to them. Realizing he was feeling to excited, he coughs and tries to play it cool again. He tries way to hard in my opinion.
"Come on, let's get this over with." Lars says to me. I waved them good-bye as Lars and I entered the school.
"Have a good day at school." Steven exclaims.
"What are you, my mom?" Lars angrily mutters to himself. So far, my first impression of this Lars guy.... I don't like his attitude.
Steven, Jenny, Buck, and Sour Cream got into the pizza delivery car. They buckled up before Jenny drove them off.
"She seems really nice." Steven talks to the Cool Kids.
"I like her vibe. Plus, I sense she's got an artistic side to her." Buck says with a smile.
"I'd love to have a best friend like her." She immediately smirks as she notes Sour Cream with a light blush on his face. "I'd bet Sour Cream wants to get her more than a friend though." Jenny teases him.
"W-What?" Sour Cream panics. Everyone is smirking at his redden cheeks and ears. "No. I don't like-like her. We'd just met."
"Oooh... you two are going to get married." Steven smiles with stars in his eyes.
"No."
"I'll be the best man at the wedding."
"Buck!"
"I call maid of honor." Jenny smiles. Sour Cream continues to blush in the back seat of the car while the rest of the gang smirks at him. True friends, am I right?
