Your POV
When Lars and I went inside, I can see the other kids gossiping.
"Man, that girl is so hot." A typical jock in a varsity jacket says.
"Dude, I'd bet ya 20 bucks if you get her to go out with on a date." His friend next to him whispers, elbowing him to come up to me. I am not some easy prize to be won over.
"Oh my god! That new girl has got... like... the fleekest eyebrows. It's sooo on point." A girl addicted on her cellphone took a pic of me and walked away. She clearly doesn't know personal boundaries and privacy rights.
"Who does she think she is, trying to act like she owns this place." A popular girl with her little groupies whispers amongst themselves. Seriously, you think that these mean girls would actually say to my face.
"Man, what is it about you that everyone has their eyes on you." Lars asks me. He is walking with his hands in his pockets and hunched over a bit.
"I'm new here, Lars. Pretty soon they'll get over it and talk about prom or school elections. I don't really care." I tell him.
"Yeah. So listen, I know we just met and all, but I'm not really into showing the new kid around school. I'd tell ya what, wait for me at the front entrance after school. Then, we can totally hang out with the cool kids." Lars face brighten when he brought up the guys we saw earlier. It does not take Scooby Doo and his mystery gang to see he is not interested in making friends with me.
"Uhm... yeah... whatever." I shrug.
"Awesome! Gonna hang out with Jenny, Sour Cream, and Buck!" He walks away gleefully down the hallway. I really don't like him.
Luckily, the principal happened to spot me in the crowd of students at their lockers. She was able to take me to her office to get my schedule and show me to my first class.
After school, I was waiting by my motorcycle to meet up with Steven and his friends. Lars was 15 minutes late since it's already 3:15pm.
"Hi (Y/N)!" I hear Steven yelling from the car. Jenny pulled up to a vacant spot next to my motorcycle. Everyone got out of the car to greet me again. Steven was in front of me, smiling with starry eyes. If only Pepper and Jack were like Steven instead of being prank-loving goblins.
"So (Y/N), we wanna know what you like to do." Buck says. Jenny had a hand on her hip.
"We talked it over, and we decided to let you decide wherever you wanna go." She explained.
"That is like some weird never-ending cycle with that sentence." Sour Cream commented. That's kind of funny.
"Hey, wait a second. Where's Lars?" Steven mentions. We heard some huffing and puffing from behind me. Turns out, Lars was sprinting his way over to us. About time! He puts his hands on his knees to catch his breath. In an instant, he tried to pull off a cool pose.
"Hey, guys! Sorry for the wait. I was just taking my time." Lars says.
"Hehe, look. It's that dude who flunked his math test and got a scolding from the teacher after 8th period." A couple of kids snickered at Lars as they walked by. No one said anything as Lars rubbed the back of his head in embarrassment.
"Anyways, what do you like to do? We can go to the arcade, the movies... Oh! Oh! Oh! We can even go to the Big Donut since that's where Lars wo-" Lars interrupted Steven by coughing loudly. I guess Lars some job at this place called Big Donut.
"I don't have a particular place I want to go. I'm open for anything, but I gotta be home by 6 'o clock for dinner." I say.
"Arcade it is!" Steven exclaims.
