Silver and I sat awkwardly in the limo, I was embarrassed by my mothers car choice, but didn't bother to voice my displeasure. He began to giggle as my face became a darker shade of red, "She is a real comedian isn't she," He said as he continued to laugh. I could only nod in agreement my voice caught by an invisible source. A smile returned to my features as my surroundings became more familiar, I watched his fade as he took in the scenery.
I nudged him gently, "Why are you so glum al of the sudden," I asked giggling. "Last time was here you bit me, remember," I giggled as he glared at me. I slowly stopped and became buisness like. "You were on my territory I was just being cautious," I huffed. I watched the corner of his lips twitch, then he cracked up laughing tears visible in his eyes, I punched his arm gently, and he stopped.
The driver cleared his throat and we looked up, "We're here Alpha, shall I drive any further?" He asked shaking from his nerves, not many people had ever talked to me it was some what unnatural still. I shook my head gently, "no need we will walk," I said with a smile as I looked at the Big gates that led to where my father was last seen alive. Silver and I clambered up the stairs to my fathers Office. I stopped as we got the door and fought back tear.
Fathers scent lingered throughout the room making my legs feel like jelly. Silver glanced at me and gripped my shoulder. He gestured me to sit in my fathers office chair and my heart sank. He smiled encouragingly and I waddled over plonking down. A gentle flame flickered in my heart, thinking of father gave me strength. I glanced at the pile of papers on his desk. I quickly flicked through them and started signing simple ones like bank statements and job listings. One letter was from an elderly woman who wished for some young boys to stop disturbing her old dog Bessy.
I checked the address and stood up, I walked out of the office confidence in my stride. Silver fell into step slightly behind me. I walked through streets, glancing at the names and the house numbers, I reached 35 Smillian Street and knocked on the front door.
I heard a noise from inside and an elderly lady who looked like she was in her late 80's opened the door. "Damn Kids..." I held upmy hand and hushed her and leaned down to pat the old retriever at her heel, " Hey ol Bessy, how is your day?" She shook her coat and I laughed. "Yes my day is good, now where are those naughty boys?" Bessy looked over at the trees across the road and sure enough, 3 boys stood on the edge of the forest, They turned and ran, I quickly bowed to the lady and ran. I heard Silver muttering thanks and good day and all the formalties before running to keep up with me. He shifted and ran ahead. I heard screams of fear as he caught up with the young teenagers.
I jumped out to find them surrounded, by rogues. Silver was doing his best to protect the 3 misfits. I walked in my head held High. When I reached the middle I ordered that their leader shifted and join me in the middle of the two groups. He stood before me a stunning young male, I smiled gently and told him in my sweetest voice.
"You have 5 minutes to leave my territory or i will ripyour guts out and feed to your rogue pack of pups," He shivered at the ferocity in my voice. He growled and I glared at him. He slunk back and complied. He muttered a curse. I smiled momentarily then turned back to the boys, They were scared shitless. "Leave the old lady alone, and don't run in the woods with no training, you will die," I grunted.
They looked at me skeptically, "who are you to be giving us orders your' barely older?" one muttered and the others joined in. "She is your alphas' daughter, and the new alpha of your pack, So show respect you stupid pups," Silver growled. The boys cowered away, shocked by his sudden authority. Was I missing something, Silver was only a doctor... right?
