Her heels clacked on the floor and I looked up from my laptop. "David -"
"Don't," I muttered, my voice breaking. "You've ruined my life enough." Katie sighed and sat next to me. "David, I'm here to tell you the truth." I looked at her, bewildered. "What do you mean the truth?" I asked. She took a deep breath, tears springing to her eyes. "I lied to you and to Audrie. You never cheated on her with me or with anyone. I was being selfish because I wanted to be with you. I could see how much you loved her and it infuriated me. I couldn't take it. I'm so sorry."

I scoffed and continued to edit my video. "You're not sorry. You're just sorry that Jason and Liza managed to call you out on it." She sputtered and stuttered trying to find her next words. "You knew?"
"Yes."
"How? How could you have known?"
"You don't ask Jason Nash and Liza Koshy to keep something like that a secret. They told me and I have yet to call Audrie and tell her everything."
"Don't call her! Stay with me, and let her stay in the dark and away from us!"

I pushed her away as she tried to get closer to me. "Fuck off, Katie. You're a lowlife whore who had nothing better to do other than ruin a relationship that was going somewhere."
Katie was taken aback by my harsh words, but she nodded and walked off. Before she left the room, she turned and said, "She's not good enough for you." I scoffed. "Yeah, well neither are you. You never stood a chance." With that, she disappeared from my home.

Later that day, I dialed Audrie's number, ready to tell her everything. I couldn't find the courage to press 'call'. I paced my room staring at the object in my hand before I threw it at a the wall and watched it fall, the screen destroyed.

I couldn't believe how fast we were to believe that whore! I couldn't believe how stupid we all were! It was too overdramatic to be real.

I sunk to the floor and cried. I cried for who I became after Audrie broke up with me. I cried for the girl I loved. I cried for the lie I believed. I cried.

For the first time in a month, I realized just how badly I fucked up.
