*sigh.
(Moments of silence passed as no word was further uttered)
Lady had just told V that their relationship would not work further than it has thus far. "Don't leave just yet. Let's finish this last dinner together before we part ways."

"Would you like some coffee?" Suggested V. "I'd rather not." Lady responded, as she slowly wiped the tips of her lips, insinuating that she's finished eating, and that dinner is over. She had to move on with her life, and so did V, however procrastinating. He always does, always holding on to worthless sentiments, trying to figure out in his shocked mind how to save this relationship.

This was a smack to his face. They just had a trip last month, and they went to the opera last Thursday. The play brought sparks in the relationship that weren't there before.
"I do not understand!" V exclaimed, breaking the silence. "We were doing just fine. We are doing fine. I don't seem to see were we went wrong. I don't know what I did, nor what I said that could tear down this edifice of love we have established. Could I be so oblivious as to have failed to see the distance in your heart?
You looked at me last night and there were glitters in your eyes. The same glitters that were in your eyes when you caught me gazing deep into them for the first time, when I built the courage to surrender my heart, and I held your hands, and asked you if it was ok. You said yes! You were so all for it. You did not retaliate. You did not step back. You didn't say this was madness. You stepped in, accepted my fingers to lock into yours. You looked at me and searched my eyes. You too saw the glitters in them."

"V, I know this is all confusing and we both cannot explain the pain we are going through..."
"We? The pain we are going through? We are going through? What pain are you going through Lady?"
"V, you're hurting and I understand. Your reaction is normal, I understand. This was still going to happen one way or the other."

"You never loved me."
"Love is a strong word."

She stood up and walked away.
She walked away from V,
She walked away from the memories
The special moments,
The adrenaline,
She walked away from an innocent, honest gesture of affection, and she didn't even explained herself.
She walked away from love
As she walked out, she walked out never to to come back.
