TOP'S POV

It's about half past eight and I am standing in front of the whole class. Even better, I am being forced to.

It's not the first time I came late to Mrs. Kwak's lesson. Actually, I can't even remember the last time I heard the bell ring for the first class. What can I say? I'm definitely not a morning person.

Usually she just gave me a death stare or made me apologise or promise that it will never happen again. But lately she never let go.

She always made me stand in front of everyone and listen to her monologue about how irresponsible my actions are and how I should be more mature since I'm basically an adult and all that shit. I also loved the part about her also not having to be there on time but she wants us to learn something and it's only her good will.

Really, her rants could be at least a bit more interesting when I had to listen to them almost every Tuesday. But it was the same crap over and over again.

I forced myself to look at her. Her face was almost red and I could see flames in her eyes. Maybe she was also pissed about the lack of interest that I showed. But how could you blame me? I woke up 15 minutes ago. Give me some rest, women.

Suddenly, a girl spoke up: "Let him be! He's already had enough. "

I turned my head to see who it was. A black haired girl in second row was standing and staring at Mrs. Kwak. Everyone else was glaring at her and so was our teacher.

"If I were you..." Mrs. Kwak started but the girl didn't let her finish.

"No, if I were you I wouldn't be such a bitch to him. He's 10 minutes late, so what? Don't force the corrupted school system on a boy like TOP. He's... special."

She made eye contact with me but it didn't last long. She wasn't able to sustain my gaze. But she didn't dare to look at our professor again. Her eyes met the floor and stayed there as Mrs. Kwak started screaming back to her.

But I wasn't listening. I was still fixated on the girl that spoke up for me. Her black hair had fallen in her eyes as she was looking down while Mrs. Kwak continued to throw insult at her. But that didn't seem to bother her that much. It was like the professer's words didn't even reach her ears before they disappered into irrelevance. So why was the girl looking down all flustered? That was the question that bothered me.

She didn't care about the trouble that she coud've got herself into by speaking up for me. So why is she acting shy now? I was determined to find out.

I looked at Mrs. Kwak, she just said that she would make sure to mention this to the principal as well as her parents. I moved my look back to the girl. She showed no reaction and no interest in Kwak's words at all. Okay, now it's my turn to speak up.

"Oh I'm sure she's already heard all of your threads in the monolouge you gave to me just minutes ago. So save your breath, you're gonna need it later for all the reporting to the principal." I smirked at our professor as I said that but my attention was still on the girl. This time she looked up and stared at me. Interesting.

"Please, just go and sit down, both of you. I don't have energy for this." said our teacher, obviously exhausted after all the screaming.

And finally, I was relived and allowed to move from the front of the room to my seat, which was all the way in the back and right next to my so called best friend, Daesung.  What a win.

As soon as I sat down he was turned to me and started babbling real fast: "Dear god, you've been standing there for ever. I started thinking that she would keep you locked to her desk like an exemplar. You know, for everyone to pity you and fear her evil or something."
