Poem One

Oh dear heart...

I awake to a wet pillow

A dark night

A clouded mind

What once was could never again be

We try to rekindle these old flames

But they're all burned out to a point of no repair

We hold on for too long

Nights hear our loudest prayers

Mornings see our bravest smiles

But deep deep deep down our hearts feel the most brokenness, but Oh dear heart still you hold on

What a brave thing you've done little heart

You've climbed mountains

You've buildt bridges only to burn them and walk on

You've calmed storms

You've loved enemies

But now you're tired dear heart

Tired of understanding

Tired of forgiving

Tired of loving when you should be leaving

But Oh dear heart still you stay.
