The team arrived on the other side to be faced with empty nothingness. As they floated through the black silence Lance fiddled with the portable teledove.; passing through 12 more realities the teen growled annoyedly.
Once more the team of heros was sucked through a portal to be greated with playful screaming. The joyful chatter came to a halting stop as the five paladins faced a group of adults on earth.
Completely ignoring the people in front of him Lance sank to his knees burying his fingers in the sand under his feet. The teams stared silently at each other as the Cuban teen let out a strangled wheeze. "I'm home..." his voice was coated in disbelief. He took a deep breath savoring the ocean air.
"Guy? Where are we!" Hunk whispered his eyes never leaving the people in front of him.
"I don't-," Shiro frowned.
"Cuba," Lance beamed rising to his feet. "We are on earth. At my home."
"Judging from our older counterparts in front of us I would say we have reached a reality in which we have returned home." Pidge sighed contentedly turning her head to look at the ocean waves.
"What day is it?" Older Shiro asked his robotic arm glowing a new shade of blue.
"I told you it was today," This voice was thick with a Cuban accent. The other group parted and a near identical Lance stood with his hands on his hips. He smiled widely the scar on his collar bone flashing pink against his tanned skin.
His blue eyes sparkled mischievously, the usual smirk settling on his lips. His hair was set in light rings his chest revealing several more scars and marks from battles.
"Katie? Can you tell mama we'll be having some guests for dinner." He stepped towards his Shiro, "I remember when we had to travel. Man that is was so lame! At least this is the last one before you guys get back to your reality."
This Shiro was sporting the usual haircut with a more relaxed attitude. The stress in his eyes was replaced with joy. His white hair was dyed its normal jet black. He beamed widely jogging foreword to pull each of them into a hug.
"I can't believe this! We were starting to think you guys weren't coming," hunk snickered pulling Katie to her feet.
"We'll be right back. Come on Hunk let's tell Lance's mom." She waved dragging the muscular Samoan like he was a rag doll.
"Mom!" The teens heart soared.
"You knew we were coming?" Shiro piped running his fingers through his white hair. The perpetually stressed frown finding its way onto his face again.
"I mean we're you but from the future. Can't tell you exactly when but we have been home a while." Older Keith yawned dragging himself to his feet.
"Wow so this is what I'll look like when this is over?" Keith asked raising an eyebrows at the bun on top of his smirking face. Not only that but his violet eyes had smile lines, he had stubble lining his cheeks but he seemed happy.
Surprisingly enough he had minimal scarring. He saw something shiny and blinked to catch his older self flashing a silver banded finger towards the teens.
"I'm married?" He stuttered all the others smiles widening in realization. Lance could feel the heat rush to his face. He stared intently at the band then at himself.
"That's-"
"The ring we made with Grandpa." Older Lance confirmed sauntering over to Keith placing a kiss on his lips.
"This is the one thing I will spoil!" Allura gushed staring at Shiro. "We married them right here. It was a proud moment," she concluded clapping the paladins on the back.
