"Anything else?" You say, trying to sound unaffected. In reality your heart is rapidly beating, the close proximity between you two might be the reason for that.
"If you don't change your attitude, we're going to have a big problem Ms. Lively and if you.." You are distracted by her accent and don't hear the rest of her probably mainstream teacher speech. What kind of accent is that? It doesn't sound British.
"Did I make myself clear?"
You snap back to reality only to see her looking pissed off at you.
"Are you even listening to what I'm saying?"
"Not really, no." I got distracted by your accent. You think but don't say it. That would be too embarrassing.
Maybe you should stop acting this way. She had no fault in your situation but you just can't help yourself.
She gets up from behind her desk.
"What is you deal?" She asks you in a low voice and damn, it makes you feel things. She is now standing right in front of you, only a few inches apart and you discover that she is bigger than you are. Not by much but you still have to look up a bit to look her directly in the eyes.
You don't say a word.
"Let me guess.. you're acting all tough and like you don't care about anything, just to get attention, your parents not giving you enough?"
You did not expect her to say that out of everything. You did not want to talk back, just tease her a bit but she went way to far, way to quick. What kind of fucking place did you end up at?
And just like that you snap.
"How dare you judge me? You've known me for what? One hour? You think just because you're a teacher and I'm a 'sorry little kid' you have the right to judge my life?"
You are nearly screaming at this point but you don't care. You both know it is because she is right and that makes it even worse.
You're pretty worked up, your face is red from the screaming and you're breathing like you just ran a marathon but other than your breath the classroom is silent.
If you weren't extremely angry, you would probably laugh at the face your teacher is currently making. Her eyes wide, mouth agape.
You wait a few minutes but it doesn't seem like she is going to say anything anytime soon, above all apologize.
"Maybe you should think more about what kinda person YOU are, than what kinda I am." And with that you take your backpack and storm out the door, shutting it with a bit too much force.
Outside the classroom Barry is still waiting for you, looking nervous. He probably heard you screaming. You walk past him without stopping.
"Where are you going?" He trails behind you.
"Smoking." Is all you say as both of you get out of the school. A cigarette is just what you need right now if you want to survive the rest of the day without killing anyone.
You can't believe how bad your day has already been. You don't care about a lot of things anymore, yeah, but you won't let a woman, who doesn't know you longer than an hour, talk to you like that. You got enough shit at your old school and get enough shit everyday from your parents, you don't need that here too and frankly you won't allow it.
"What happened? I heard you screaming. No one ever screamed at Ms. Gadot. She is like the best teacher ever."
"Barry! Either smoke one with me or please shut the fuck up." You tell him sounding exhausted. You don't want to hear about her for the rest of the day.
"N-no. I don't smoke" He looks at you nervously as you light up your cigarette and take a long drag, savor it and let it out again.
Just what you needed. It immediately calms you down.
"You know, theoretically we're still on school ground and not allowed to smoke here. We could get in trouble."
"No one forces you to be here with me. If you're scared than just go."
He looks like he is considering leaving but for a reason unknown to you he still stays. Maybe he has a crush on you or he has no other friends but he won't leave your site.
Both of you stand besides each other in silence, which weirdly enough is comfortable. You finish your cigarette, throw it on the ground and head back to the entrance of the school. Just 3 more classes and you're done for today.
You just hope you won't walk into her for the rest of the day.
Barry shows you where your next class is as you both find out that you have most of the classes together. He is ecstatic about it whereas you can only groan.
The classes go by rather fast, with nothing great happening. Teachers welcome you, students just look at you and you ignore everyone with occasionally a few words from Barry who you just shut out most of the time.
Boy is nice but you don't have the energy for a new friendship.
The last bell for the day rings and you take your backpack and head out the door with a quick goodbye to Barry.
"See ya tomorrow buddy."
"See you tomorrow Sian! I hope you had a great first day." He smiles at you hopefully.
You can't help but smile back as you leave the class. The boy is really trying.
On your way to your car you light yourself a cigarette and get your keys out. Opening the trunk you throw your bag in, close it and get in behind the wheel. As you head out of the parking lot you see the cause of your days distress standing besides, you assume, her car, looking you directly in the eyes with a somewhat sad expression.
You quickly look away, take a drag of your cigarette and drive out of the lot. You just want to get home and forget about the day.
Arriving at home 20 min later, you're happy to see that your parents are both not at home. Going to the kitchen you grab yourself an apple and a chocolate bar and head straight to your room.
The only thing you want to do now is eat and then go straight to sleep but as you lay down and close your eyes, the thought of a certain teacher won't let you.
