I went back in my apartment and took a quick shower, Afterwards I dried and curled my hair, applied some natural makeup, did my nails and slipped on a navy knee-length dress. I looked in the mirror and slipped on my peals.

I took a deep breath before opening the door and going over to Ethan's.

I knocked on his door. No answer. I knocked again, no answer.

I turned around on my heel about to go back to my apartment and try again later. As I did I heard the door open, revealing Ethan's mom, straight faced women with dark brown curls that laid perfectly on her broad shoulders that pocked out of her off shoulder sweater that landed just right above her knees, in her blue jeans.

"You must be Kendall, Is that right?" She asked

"Yes ma'am" I said.

She eyed me for a little while then she began to take a look at my outfit.

"Mhm..well please, come in" she said opening the door wider. "Ethan should be out in just a little bit, but meanwhile...I'll ask you a few questions" she said closing the door behind me and sitting on a stool.

I sat across from her playing with my fingers.

"How long have you known Ethan?" She asked

"Well I haven't known him that long, but I know you've raised him to be a nice man" I said, I'm glad I said that because after I did, a small smile planted on her lips.

"Have you and my boy had sex?"

My eyes widened. "No ma'am" I said

Her brown eyes met mine, she stared me down looking directly in my eyes right into my soul.

"I see..." she said stroking her chin. "Where are you from, Kendall?"

"California" I said

"Why would a little girl like you move all the way to New Jersey?"

"I saw some opportunities here so I came here and I'm going to take some chances"

"You look, familiar...do you have a sister?"

"Yes ma'am, but she she died a little while back" I said looking down.

"What was her name?"

"Alison" I said looking down

Soon as I said that her eyes instantly widened.

"Alison?! As in Alison Riggs?!"

"Yes?" I said looking back up at her

She looked like she was about to have a heart attack, she looked as if she wanted a fly to come into her mouth.

"There is no way" she sighed, pacing back and forth in the room. "There has to be a logical explanation for this mishap!"

"What are you talking about?" I asked

Ethan came out of his room and looked at his mom worriedly

"Mom, w-what's wrong?" He asked

"Does Alison Riggs ring a bell to you?!"'

"Ali-Alison?"

"Alison Riggs is Kendall's sister"

"What the hell is going on?!" I shouted

Ethan looked at his mom then back at me.

"It's nothing" he said

Deep down inside me I knew there was something wrong. If my dead sister rung a bell not only to Ethan's mom but also Ethan, something's wrong.
