Welcome to Meadow Brooke High School where social classes are everything. You are judged solely by the people you hangout with. You choose your destiny in middle school and you're stuck with it. Rarely does anyone move up the social ladder here ,believe me I know.
I guess I should introduce myself ,I'm Scarlet Jones. I'm just your average antisocial, introverted, depressed, anxious teenager. It's a wonder to everyone how I have friends. Honestly I don't know either.
A little about myself. My parents are divorced and both remarried. I have a sister that annoys the hell out of me. I live with my mother in the hell hole of a town ,known as Meadow Brooke.
It's full of different social classes ,just like the high school. There are the wealthy people who live on the rich hills of town. There are the middle class people who live in the big city apartments. I'm part of that class, not rich ,but comfortable. Then there's the poor ,lower class people who live in the dirtier part of town. There is a lot of crime and violence around that part.
Anyway ,back to Meadow Brooke High. Your basic social groups include the popular and unpopular. To go in more detail, the popular group includes the jocks, cheerleaders, rich kids, fashionistas, delinquents, and preppy kids (student government mostly). The unpopular group includes the nerds, geeks, burnouts, gamers, gays/lesbians, band members, drama kids, and the rejects and outcasts.
The social group that I fell in was the rejects and outcasts. I chose my path and I'm happy with it. They're my friends and I feel safe with them. And let me tell you that our group is extremely underrated.

Teen FictionHigh school sucks ,that's obvious. What's worse are the social groups they put you in. They define who you are ,or do they? Just because you're in the "unpopular" group doesn't mean you're any less important. Even the rejects and outcasts are great...
