They wheeled me into a bright room with paintings of rainbows and unicorns. There were beams about three feet above the ground and huge bouncy balls and some weird sticks with hand holders. This room was the therapy walking room. Dr. Kerry was there already holding a scratched up clip bored.

"Good afternoon Elisa and hello Sara."

She blushes. Aunt Sara is moms youngest sister, she's only 38 and Dr.kerry looks to be around her age.

"Hi."

She waves quickly then wheels me over to him. Then she lifts me up and carefully places me on the ground. She kisses my cheek then leaves.

"Well I see you can sit up now by yourself."

"Y.e.s."

He smiles then writes something in his clip bored.

"Now I know you want to start to walk but we're not here for that just yet."

I slump forward, my face crumples down into a sad expression.

"I'm sorry Elisa but your lungs are still to weak and-"

He indicates to my oxygen mask.

"And your muscles are too weak to withstand you. It's going to be a couple of weeks till you can actually walk."

I gulp and straiten up again.

"O.k.a.y."

"I just want to start on leg strength and see if you can move it properly."

He gently lefts up my leg and moves it up and down, side to side then bent it at the knee slowly. Then he takes my other leg and does the same thing.

"Now you try, and don't worry I'll help."

I try to lift it but I barely get a inch off the ground when I lose my hold and Dr.Kerry has to do the whole exercise again.

"Eventually you'll be able to do it, but you have to get strong enough and get some meet on those bones!"

He laughs and I slightly smile.

After an hour of doing some leg and arm exercises I was exhausted. Dr. Kerry said that tomorrow we would do some aquatic leg workout thing. I've never gone swimming before so Aunt Sara bought me a one piece blue swimsuit.

I look out my window at the bright daylight streaming inside making me smile. My dad hasn't visited me once but I'm ok with that, he probably wanted me to die during the surgery.

"Do I have havvvvvvve to!"

It sounded like a boy, a frustrated boy. Who sounded to be right outside my door.

Then I hear Dr. Kerry.

"Elisa has no friends and except me and her aunt no one talks to her."

"She can't even speak back It would be like talking to a friggin wall!!"

"Jason all you have to do is talk, it'll even help with your own therapy."

I hear a sigh and my door opening.

"Hello again Elisa, I have brought you a friend."

Dr. Kerry's hand was on Jason's shoulder and was leading him inside. He looked pissed, but still good looking. He had short honey blond spiked up hair, was probably around my age, he had pretty good muscles for my standards and a spotless smooth tan face with piercing blue greens eyes. Yet he still looked pissed.

"Jason here has cancer, and to help with his therapy and yours he will be coming here every day for an hour to speak with you. Basically just to talk."

Jason sits down in the chair beside me and Dr. Kerry leaves us closing the door behind him.

"My names Jason, I have cancer in my foot, I'm fourteen and I hate this."

He says that in the most bored voice.

"E.l.i.s.a."

He raises an eyebrow.

"Also I know you can understand everything but was paralyzed for your whole life and blaw blaw blaw."

All I could think was he was just saying blaw blaw blaw, he was gorgeous. I instantly started worrying about my own completion. He started talking again but I interrupted him.

"I. M.i.r.r.o.r."

He looks at me funny.

"You want a mirror?"

He doesn't wait just rushes to the bathroom and grabs the small portable mirror. Then he places it in my lap where it stays up right to view my face. I never once have scene my completion for a long time. I always get wheeled away before I can see anything. I barely know what my hair color is.

I gasp. I have long brown-blond wavy hair and surprising a smooth thin palely face with pink cheeks and high cheekbones.

I never knew I was so pretty.
