                                                               Olive

Barely ten minutes into school and I already felt another part of me die. So much for a new start. I hated my life.

Just when I thought my life couldn't get worse......it did. It became a hundred times worse.

"Fuck!" she cried as her phone hit the floor and her stuff went flying everywhere. All the laughter and whispers stopped when they saw her. Suddenly everyone's gaze was on me.

"Don't look up! Don't look up!"  I screamed in my head. I lifted my head."Damn I looked!"  As soon as I met her gaze my face heated up with embarassment. She had a confused look on her face. Her emerald colored eyes were staring at me intently, studying me. Her honey brown waves delicately framed her face. Freckles were lightly sprinkled across her nose. She was beautiful. It made things even worse. I quickly recovered, got on my feet and collected my bag. I couldn't bring myself to look at anyone else in the face.

"I..I I'm s-sorry I didn't meant to!" was all I could get out as I backed away from her and ran.

I just ran.

When i found an empty hall I entered the closest classroom to me and started to punch the wall and cry. I couldn't stop.

The hot tears refused to stop flowing. "How could you fuck up so bad on your first day!" I balled my fist tighter and pounded the wall even harder until I could feel warm blood dripping from my fist.

"Don't do that."

I quickly snapped my head up and looked around. There was a skinny guy standing on the other side of the classroom who looked like he had just gotten out of bed . His sandy blonde hair was sticking out in all directions and his blue eyes looked sleepy yet they held a friendly warm look. He was handsome.

"Don't do that."

"Do what?" I just stared at him trying to wipe away the tears from my face.

"Hurt yourself. When they see that you are weak they will move in for the kill. It's just like on Animal Planet except they don't actually eat you 'cause that would be weird." he said as he pointed to the hallway.

He grabbed a first aid from a shelf and slowly walked over to me and knelt right across from me and held out his hand. "Give me your hand.'' I just looked at him. "Don't worry I'm not going to hurt you. We just need to get your hands cleaned up and wrapped." I looked down at my hands and saw just how bad they looked.

                             *****************************************************************

We were both silent as he cleaned up my cuts and gently wrapped up my hands. When he was done he finally spoke. "My name is Ryker Chandler by the way." He gave me a small grin."I'm Olive Solorzano." He let out a dramatic squeal that made me laugh. "Solorzano....as in related to Anna-Maria Solorzano?" I nodded my head. "No way! My dad Adam Chandler is her business partner. They own the Chandler and Solorzano law firm."

"Really?" I was surprised. I didn't actually know what my grandama did for a living. That just went to show just how well I knew my grandmother. Over the next half hour we geeked out and talked about all kinds of random stuff.  Everything and anything. It felt so nice to just talk to him and have someone listen to me.....listen to the things I had to say.

When the bell decided to ring I froze. I was not ready at all to go back out there. Ryker must have sensed this or something because next thing I know he gently tapped my shoulder. "Hey do you wanna hang out with me today? I can help you look for your classes and we can eat lunch together and I can keep those jerks off your back..........you don't have to if you don't want to." When he said those words I felt my body relax and a smile form on my lips. "I would love to."  He smiled but then his face went serious. "Olive there is something you should know about me....I'm gay."

When I heard him say those words I totally lost it. I began to cry again. All those memories came rushing back. "D-did I do something wrong? Did it upset you that I'm gay?" I looked up at him and laughed. He looked at me like I was crazy. "I'm gay too." It felt so good to finally say it out loud in front of someone who was just like me. "I'm gay." He just laughed.

"Good now there's no reason why you can't be my friend." I couldn't help but smile like an idiot as I wiped the tears away. Thank god I had worn waterproof mascarra. He got up and helped me to my feet. "Come on then let's go look for your classes baby dyke."
