Child Prodigy (Kidfic)

Ch. 1

"Mani!" Dinah whisper- yelled, trying not to make that much noise. The brown eyed girl shook Normani harshly, trying to make the older girl open her eyes.

"What, DJ?" The small girl asked, getting up.

"We need to get ready for the big party today! Mrs. Lovato said that any one of us could get adopted today!" Dinah said excitedly, not being able to contain her excitement.

Normani, however, believed that she would not get adopted anytime soon and there is no need for "hope" at all.

It's all a lie, in her opinion.

Everybody says that "you'll have a nice family who will love you and care for you" but when you lose that family, there isn't no other family like that. Its all false hope and lies that they believe kids will fall for. At least, most kids.

"DJ, why are we this early, though? I don't even want to deal with Lucy." Normani mumbled, forcing her body to get up from the comfortable bed.

Lucy, and a few other girls, bullied Normani in the orphanage. Of course, Dinah was always there to scare them off, threatening to give them a "poly-beatdown" if they mess with her friend. Even Ms. Lovato told them not to mess with Normani, but who would listen?

"Mani, trust me. They won't be able to even breathe around you if they mess with you." Dinah said, and Normani smiled, just a little. Even though it was a little creepy, it was all Dinah.

The two girls brushed their teeth, making them pearly white, and made their way towards the eating room, where they sat where they always did.

"Hey, look, that's the jerk--"

"You shouldn't finish that sentence because I don't think you want me to recreate what happened last month, okay Lucy?" Dinah threatened, her voice booming through the room, sending shivers down not only Normani's, but everyone else's.

Last month, Lucy started talking about Normani nonstop, causing the small girl to feel attacked. She was threatened by Lucy that if she told anyone, all of her artwork would be destroyed.

Of course, the small girl enjoyed her art, so she didn't tell a soul.

But when Lucy and her friends cornered her in one of the bathrooms, Dinah came out of no where and started yelling things at Lucy.

Lucy's friends ran away, leaving Dinah, Normani, and Lucy in the bathroom.

Lucy tried to intimadate Dinah, which didn't work at all, and caused Dinah to beat her up then and there.

Soon, Ms. Lovato came in and broke everything up, grounding Dinah and Normani for 5 days, and Lucy for 8.

Ever since, Lucy was pretty scared of Dinah, but she didn't want to show it, if course.

"Whatever. Lets just go, they aren't worth my time, anyways." Lucy said, before walking away with an eye roll.

"Thanks DJ." The chocolate skinned girl mumbled, making the Polynesian smile.

"No problem, best friend." Dinah said, hugging Normani tightly before beginning to munch on her breakfast.

The two girls sat quietly, eating what looked like oatmeal, before going to to do their chores.

The two worked hard, until their chores were done. After some tv, Ms. Lovato told everyone to get ready for the party later.

Dinah, believing that she was going to get adopted today along with Normani, tried to get the both of them ready for the best first expression ever.
