Being Kol's best friend for the past 500 years and finding out your soulmates

You rolled over to see your best friend Kol, you decided to pick on him since he was sleeping. You poked his face and made faces at him wishing for him to wake up. You picked up the covers and he was shirtless so you put your ice cold hands on his chest. For being dead for 1000 years he was warm, so you took the opportunity to bathe in the warmth he was giving off. Your thoughts were cut short by Kol wrapping his arms around your body and he pulled you into him. You had your face buried in his chest, you finally saw the reason why you could never have a boyfriend. You and Kol were just too close, people often thought you were a couple. You both denied any dictation of relations between the two of you. You did not have feelings for Kol, at least not that you thought. Kol pressed his lips to your forehead and whispered into your hair knowing you could hear him "I am pretty sure this is the reason your boyfriends always think you're cheating darling." You scoffed at him and continued to snuggle into him and bask in the warmth he was giving off. That was definitely the reason.

He pulled you up in the bed so he could look you in the eyes, his hands still rested on your waist. He moved one of them to your hair and put a loose strand behind your ear. "Remind me at the ball later that if any man is to even look at you wrong he loses a heart." He just watched you, rolling your eyes you spoke "Okay Mikaelson, I am not a pet. I can handle myself, you know that." "Trust me darling I am quite aware that you can stand-up for yourself, I just like to threaten them. You do always give me great reactions, so that is also a plus." You tried to pull away from him but he was stronger than you. "Let me go Kol, I have to go get ready for the ball. I still don't have a dress." He pouted up at you when he let you go, silently asking for you to stay. You moved back into your spot with him holding you, he slowly moved his face into your neck. You granted him access and tilted your head to the side. "I hope you don't mind darling but, I am quite famished." "Kol, are you sure you want to do this again? Like the whole bloodsharing thing?" Kol looked back up at your eyes, "Come on doll, it's not like we haven't done this before." "I know it's just, what if like one of your siblings walk in on us?" Kol rolled his eyes and moved back toward your neck, "I don't care if they see us." Kol said something after that but it was so muffled by him pressing his lips to your neck you couldn't hear him.

You, Bekah, Freya, Hayley, and Hope all went in search of perfect dresses for the masquerade ball tonight. It was being held by Esther, she wanted to appreciate being reunited with her family. You knew that was a lie, she was hiding something and it kind of scared you not knowing what it was. You walked with Bekah towards Nik in the kitchen, he smirked when he saw you. Nik always liked you, "Hello love don't you look stunning this afternoon." "Thank you Nik but, Y/n and I need your credit card" Rebekah stated noticing that Nik winked at you. He happily handed you the card, and whispered in your ear "Get whatever you would like, I do not mind." He was gone after that and Bekah flashed both of you out to get the dresses. You decided on a ombred black and red floor length dress, you looked hot. "Y/n, you look like a goddess. We are getting that one for sure." When all of you arrived back at the house the men were all gone so you took the time to get ready. The decorations had been put up, and the people were arriving. You slipped your mask on and started dancing with people, you heard Esther's voice followed by a clinking glass.

Everyone looked toward the balcony where the witch stood, she spoke swiftly "I would just like to thank everyone for coming, I wanted to make this night special. I wanted to make amends with my dear children, so I have brought each of their soulmates to this party." A crowd of awes and how sweets could be heard, but the Mikaelson children themselves didn't look happy. "Each of my children have until midnight to find their soulmate, but the downside is: If they do not find them in time their soulmate will die, as well as, the rest of their siblings soulmates. I know that does not sound fair but, we are Mikaelsons and when is anything fair? Anyway, continue to party and have a good time." She walked down the steps and everyone went back to what they were doing. You walked up to Esther to ask some questions, "Esther, um, how will they know they have found them?" "Well, all of their rings will individually light up when they are near them. The other children will be notified by their rings lighting up, that will mean a sibling has found their soulmate. It is simple sweetheart." She waltzed away and someone spun you around, Lucien Castle.

"Lucien, what are you doing?" You asked referring to the hand that rested on your lower back while you danced. "Doing what any man in his right mind would do, I am appreciating the most beautiful girl in the room." He glanced down at you and smiled. "How did you know it was me though, with the mask and everything?" "Do you think I could miss that gorgeous accent and those mesmerizing eyes of yours love?" You rolled your eyes and tried to find Kol. "If you are looking for Kol, he is over there with that brunette witch." You glanced over at him, you noticed his ring lit up as did the other siblings. Rebekah and Marcel had just kissed, you really should have bet money on that. Soon, midnight was rolling around the corner and everyone had found their soulmate except for Kol. You went up to your bedroom wanting to get away from the party for a second, you heard a knock on your door. Klaus walked in and stood silent, "You look ravishing y/n, truly." You slipped your mask off and sat on the edge of your bed. He glanced down at his watch and it struck midnight, he looked at you. "Kol, he still hasn't found his yet y/n." You watched Klaus pace back and forth for a second. You felt extremely tired, and your body started to ache.

"Y/n, your arm love." You looked down at your arm watching the gray veins crawl up your arm. "I don't want to die Nik, what do i do?" You began to panic when Klaus yelled for Kol. Kol sped in and wrapped you up in his arms, "Darling, look at me, okay?" Your eyelids fluttered while you looked up at your soulmate. Kol gently presses his lips to yours and it was something you had never experienced within 500 years. "I am not letting you go love, I love you." You swallowed, the veins started crawling up your neck when you said "I love you too Kol." The veins stopped and disappeared, witch loop holes are the best. That was the beginning of a wonderful friendship, relationship, and life with Kol.
