*6 months later* Caelyn's POV *flashbackto 2 weeks ago* "Ok, so we're just going to examine your knee and this will give you a brief idea when you can start playing again" the doctor explained and I nodded
I've been doing pretty good these past few months, not any unbearable pain so that's surely a sign of something "So, it seems to me you're doing absolutely amazing with the healing process, how has the pain been" she asked me "It's been good, very tolerable, I'm walking a lot now with the brace and I'm becoming active" I explained She was writing up something while smirking and handed it to me "Welcome back champ" she winked handing me a pass "Wait! I can play again" I exclaimed "Absolutely" she nodded "Omg thank you so much" I squealed and went home thinking about how lucky I am for that to happen
*present day* So now I'm getting ready for the big Quarterfinal game against the Phillipines Everyone else already got ready because it's a surprise for everyone I changed into our new black uniform (media), yes we changed again and I got #6 because it's my new lucky number since it took 6 months for me to make a comeback I walked out of the lockeroom and to the sideline when Celine saw me "No way" she squealed "Yes way" I confirmed "where's coach" "Umm talking with Kim I believe" she replied "Great, thanks Celine" I grinned walking over to coach "Ahh yes Caelyn, nice to see you in your jersey supporting us" she explained not seeing my full uniform yet "Um coach, here" I smirked handing her the note and she started jumping up and down squealing and going to change the lineup "Why did that just happen" Kenzi chuckled "CAELYN'S PLAYING" Mari exclaimed and hugged me and so did the other teenagers "Girl lets warm you up" Lauryn said and we started warming up
Michael's POV "Are you going to watch the game" Drew asked "Caelyn can't play yet so I don't know, there's no point" I sighed "True, but imagine when she does come back" Chance nodded "It's going to be insane when she comes back" Brady added "Can we at least watch the pre game" Sergio groaned "Yeah I'm down" I agreed
*pre game* "Now who are going to be some difference makers in this match Nia" Amanda asked "For the Phillipines, it's going to be their libero for sure and for the USA" Nia explained "I don't know with- OH MY GOD THIS JUST IN CAELYN ANDREWS IS PLAYING I REPEAT CAELYN ANDREWS IS PLAYING" Amanda squealed "How do we know" Nia asked "Look, camera, pan down to the US side. We see a familiar face in full uniform, I'm so excited! Ok so difference maker for the US, Caelyn Andrews" Amanda explained "Thanks Sergio for making us watch the pregame" I chuckled
Caelyn's POV "Now your starting lineup for the USA" the announcer exclaimed making screams erupt "And lets welcome back your new #6 CAELYN ANDREWS" he announced and I ran out high fiving my teammates as we all got into position Kenzi served the ball first and a #19 on the other team overpassed it to where I'm standing so I jumped and pounded it down the line "And there you have it, welcome back Caelyn. This is going to be the biggest comeback we have probably ever seen" Amanda announced and we got back into position for the next serve Now #6 in the front tried tipping it over me but I set it to Mari who set up Lauryn but she got blocked so I pancaked the ball, Mari set it to me, and I killed it cross court to start out the game *2 sets later* We're winning 2-0 and my stats are through the roof 24 kills 11 blocks 13 aces 29 digs And now we're starting set 3 "Ok Kim will serve first then Mari, Lena, Caelyn, Kenzi, and Lauryn. Ready 1.2.3 USA HEYY" we cheered I went in my position and Kim served a bullet that they controlled, set it to their outside, and they killed it but I dove and hit it up, Kenzi came in and bumped it to Lena who killed it "Yes Lena" I cheered and we went back to our positions Kim then had a service error but that's not gonna shake us It's been back and forth when I got to serve, it was 5-5 I got 19 aces in a row and now, one last point and I have my best game of my career I served it but they hit it up and we had an extremely long rally
(Just pretend the point is Caelyn killing the ball deep corner) "And team USA are moving on to the semifinals" Nia announced and we were all cheering "Your stats are through the roof" Kim told me and I nodded as we both celebrated together briefly
Michael's POV "That was such an insane last point" Chance breathed "And now I'm here with Caelyn Andrews, that was your biggest game of your career, do you have any idea what your stats are of the game, I mean, it's your 17th double double of your career but still" Amanda asked her "Um I have no idea, tell me" Caelyn chuckled "You have32 kills, 18 blocks, 29 aces, and 36 digs" Amanda told her and Caelyn's face just lit up "Oh wow, that's insane" she gushed "Yeah, you go down in history for the biggest comeback ever" Amanda nodded "so did anyone even have an idea you were playing cause it was very sudden" "No *chuckles*. I decided to surprise everyone and just be dressed in my full uniform. It worked though" she shrugged "Amazing job and good luck to you in the semis" Amanda smiled "Thank you" Caelyn grinned walking off "That was insane" Drew agreed "Yeah, your girlfriend is the future of this sport" Brady nodded "I'm gonna text her" I told the guys Me-hey baby, you did amazing tonight💕 Babe😚❤️-aww thanks babe! I walked in and all the guys were sitting in front of the tv "We got the dub" I exclaimed and they all cheered with me "How were you able to just come back" Chance asked "Well I had a checkup on my knee and they cleared me to play so I took the chance and bam, had the game of my career" I shrugged "So, when do you find out what seed you get in the tournament then" Drew asked "Next week" I smirked "You guys first" Michael asked "We'll see, but probably" I chuckled "You guys gonna win" Brady asked "Absolutely" I stated in a confident voice
