A Cut-Out Romance

Chapter 2 : Their Memories

Pie was with her parents at a resto-bar, meeting one of her father's acquaintance. She went here after her class finished because her father called her when she's walking towards the dormitory. Her parents are here for some meetings over their company, so when they found out that their friend lives here they decided to meet-up.

She surveyed the area when they just entered and it is nice but they went straight to the second floor so she haven't seen that much. A middle aged man waved at them and her parents waved back as they walk towards that person. The man looks quite aged for some of his hair already turned white, he looks so kind.

The man stand up and hugged her mother and as a sign of greetings they kissed on cheeks to cheeks (not literally kiss if you know what i mean) next was her father and her. "please take a sit, take a sit" he said as he hurriedly lead the way to their table. "my bad, it's been a long time since we meet so i got excited" he said while laughing.

"Yes , it's been years since you left in our hometown. It's hard to get a hold of you , you know that?" said her father teasingly to the man.

"Been busy taking care of my child and my business , I just can't take my eyes off it because if i did, someone might create a trouble for us" the man answered dejectedly.

"You two, it's our reunion and you started talking about business again" her mother said to the two faking her anger but the man answered not caring.

"Well, you can't change our habits when meeting someone working in a business haha"

"He's right. Reunions are meant for talking how you've been in life with the years you haven't seen each other, see?" his father argued.

"Just don't leave me out of your conversation, I'm also a boss in the business world"

"Haha , the boss of your husband it seems. Oh right, who might be this young lady accompanying you?"

"Forgotten already ? She's our daughter, Pie." her father introduced her to the man and Pie just smiled.

"Woah, She sure have grown up to a fine lady! When I first saw her, she's still a kid and she's just this small..!" the man said while acting amaze.

 "haha , of course, who do you think her parents are!" acted proudly, her mother.

They continued to talk , making Pie, feel awkward because they mostly talk about her but she got intrigued when her father asked something about the man.

"Right, I haven't seen your daughter, is she not around ?"

"Now that you mentioned it, she's about the same age as our daughter. If I remembered correctly, they used to hangout during ..was it middle school? Her name was Tina, isn't that right ?" her mother added.

"I'm flattered you remembered my daughter haha , she's quite busy . If you'd like, I'll call her right now. She's around here at this time"

"Don't bother, like you said, your kid is busy. You shouldn't bother her for us you know, haha" her father answered with a laugh 

"Sighs.. she's really a sensible kid and already helping in business but still, she's not as gorgeous as your daughter here .. ah! I forgot to ask the food you'd like to eat!, sighs, i'm really getting older."

"well Just recommend us something to eat, this is yours after all, so you know what's the best dishes here."

"Now that you mentioned that this is mine, I just can't take your money for paying the foods, right?"

"Wait, you're saying that you've been planing to make us pay?" said teasingly by her father

"Of course, I'm joking. It's my treat haha. This on the house."
