Ebony raced around the corner of the building, dragging me behind her. My feet couldn't keep up-- she was running so fast and I was falling behind. She was talking like a machine, and she wouldn't stop squealing in excitement.
"We're gonna meet them! We're actually going to meet them!" She screamed. I laughed, agreeing, but the words couldn't come out of my mouth. She was going to have a raspy voice when she talked to the boys, and I'd have a perfectly preserved one. Sucks for her.
We finally reached the front of the building. It was where the BTS fansign was held, and immediately we could see hundreds of fans (primarily girls) were lined up outside the entrance. A bunch of them were wearing high heels, short skirts, and had beautiful hair and makeup. I glanced down and saw that I was wearing a black BTS hoodie, jeans, and some white sneakers. My hair was parted to the side. Ebony, on the other hand, went all out and wore a beautiful dress and took hours to straighten her hair.
"You know they aren't going to fall in love with you, right?" I made a remark as she was getting ready and I waited for her. She shrugged off what I said, completely ignoring me. What I liked about my fellow ARMY was that she didn't care what other people said.
We were in the back of the line, and it was just about time for them to open the doors to let us into the building. Ebony dug out our tickets from her bag, and handed one of them to me. It was small and fit in the palm of my hand. On it was some numbers and words printed on it, but I'd taken off my glasses because it was giving me a headache.
The atmosphere around us buzzed with excitement-- some girls were counting down the seconds until they would meet their celebrity crushes. Some others were fanchanting, and others, like Ebony and I, were having small conversations among themselves.
"So, are you excited to meet Namjoon? I know he's your bias..." Ebony asked, smiling deviously at me, implying that I should be swooning over meeting my favorite person in the whole world.
I just shrugged. From what I've read, it's great to meet them and all, but the one-on-one time is quick and hasty, because they want to keep a schedule. It wasn't like I was going for coffee with my crush for two hours. It was a minute or so to talk and have each member sign a souvenir.
"Well," My friend continued, "I'm excited to meet Taehyung. After all, he is my bias. I thought you'd be more excited... these tickets cost you a fortune." She wrapped her arm around me, huddling for warmth, sympathetically.
I decided to open my mouth and speak after all, "Yeah, I'm excited and all, but I don't want to get disappointed and let down when it's not that great!"
Ebony pulled her arm off of me, and turned to me with an upset expression, "How do you know that it isn't going to be great? What if-- What if one of them falls in LOVE with you? How would you feel then?"
"Pssh, like that's going to happen." I skeptically responded. The doors opened, and we were slowly filing into the building with security checks and ticket scans.
"You never know, you never know." She sang, walking in front of me, excited to get in line. I sighed, as I was the last in line, and Ebony was a few spaces in front of me. This means that the boys are going to be even more rushed to end the fansign, the moment I step up to the table to ask for autographs.
Moments later, a bunch of people talked, then the members of BTS filed out onto the stage and the crowd erupted in ear-piercing screams. I kept my mouth shut and just clapped. I could see Ebony jumping up and down, looking so excited that I thought she would faint in any second.
And as soon as they came out, they started to sit down and sign. The girls in front of me were leagues and leagues ahead of me. I know that the bangtan boys wouldn't even pay half as much attention to me as they would to the beautiful girls ahead.
After what seemed like forever, I saw Ebony go up and start talking to J-Hope, and what seemed like a minute, she moved onto Suga, then to Jin, then to Jungkook, then to V, then to Jimin, then to RM. When she talked to V, she seemed in a daze. He looked at her without an expression, and gave her a half-hearted smile at the end when she high-fived his hand.
When she was finished, she turned to me and gave me a double thumbs up, and a beaming smile. Then, she sat down.
The people in front of me did the same, and then, it was just me left. I walked up to the elongated table covered in a thick, black table cloth. J-Hope greeted me with a smile and a quick "hello" and asked what my name was and the sort. He scrawled his signature, and gave me a high five. His hands were warm, and they smelled of pumpkin spice lotion.
Next was Suga. He looked at me for at least ten seconds, then he snapped back to attention. "Hey, nice to meet you," He muttered, and he did the same things as J-Hope.
I moved down the line, I talked to Jin for a bit, I watched as Jungkook and Taehyung played with each other, I compared my hand size with Jimin, and finally, I was at RM's spot.
But he was not there.
