Was I surprised that I woke up being dragged underground by two buff men?

No.

Was I surprised to know that I was dragged underground by the military?

Yes.

With a capital Y.

I can only stare at the guy infront of me who was the general in confusion.

"It's finally nice to meet you Mia Denver" The way those words tumbled out of his mouth and into my ears sent fucking goosebumps all over my body.

One thing a beginner to this world must know is that the military and assassins don't mix well being in the same sentence.

Nor being in the same area, breathing in oxygen at the same room is healthy for either of them.

"Is this about the scar I did on your back?" I blurted out, still frowning letting the distant memory replay in my head.

Me and the general have had a few number of encounters, all not really pleasant.

A deep laugh echoed in the room as my frown was replaced by shock. I didn't bother hiding the way my eyes widen in surprise when he laughed at what I said.

All of this doesn't make any fucking sense now.

"I still want to kill you for it" He said once his laughter died down.

Okay now it does.

With that being said, should I conclude this as an attempt to kill me?

"But I won't" Okay this is getting weird again.

He stared at me with eyes almost displaying his inner battle with himself.

"I can't" It just got ten times weirder.

"This is getting weird" I said, not really caring if my voice sounded so confused because... I am confused as to why I am here and to why he can't kill me.

That last part alone is so wrong on so many levels.

He sighed, pinching his nose before raising his hand up. I looked behind him to see the armed men lowering their guns but still kept their eyes on me, their glares mentally telling me that they weren't letting their guards down.

Which is smart.

With the general being a bit young for the position he's in, he trained his men well enough to not let their guards down.

"Come with me" The general suddenly said, knocking me out of my own thoughts.

I watch him signal the two men that behind me to not follow us as he opened another door that I didn't seem to notice earlier.

"Those men are lucky enough to be standing" I said whilst semi glaring at them as they closed the door, leaving us both alone.

This earned another chuckle from him.

"I know" He said, facing me as I stopped walking and kept a respectable distance between us.

"But I know that you wouldn't kill them" The confidence leaking in his voice when he said that was enough to make me raise an eyebrow.

Our numbered encounters was clearly enough for him to know that I'm not a psycho killer who murders for fun or fame.

"I was this close" I held up two fingers closely together.

"To not snapping their necks" I said seriously, earning another chuckle from him.

He's that close too from his death.
