*chapter 4*

For the first time in history I was speechless.

And that's saying something.

"Now let's get you all ready for-" I pulled out my gun without thinking twice and pointed it directly at the girl who was about to touch my hair.

We were already backstage alone in the dressing room. How we got here was beyond me and I felt my eye twitch ever so slightly as the grip I had on my gun tightened. I slowly moved my head to look at her dumbfounded expression.

She looked dumb. alright and the thought of me looking somewhere close to this a few minutes ago, on stage, infront of those people, has me tightening my grip on the gun and I was ready to fire when the door suddenly slammed open.

"Mia!" Nathalia's voice echoed in the deadly quiet room and that seemingly snapped this bitch out of her trance as she opened her mouth to probably scream when Nathalia appeared beside her, injecting something before walking towards me.

"I found a way out" She glanced at the gun I had out. She moved my outstretched arm out of her way and I was about to say something when she suddenly pulled out a piece of paper.

I frowned, my eyes quickly scanning the paper and I felt my eye twitch again when it landed on a certain word.

Military.

"Are you serious" I asked though it was more of a sarcastic statement rather than a question.

"Yes now hurry the fuck up and sign it" I yanked my arm out of her grasp and glared at her.

"Have you read this yet? This is the exact same thing I was telling you awhile ago" To be honest, I have no idea how we ended up in the same place, same time and having the same target as the military.

"It's not as bad as it seems" She argued but I only glared at her harder.

"This is serious" I said, voice dangerously low as I held her gaze.

"You don't think I know?" She bit back, voice dead serious as well.

She glared at me as I did the same to her, the tension rising in the room and the temperature inching a few degrees high. We were both mad, both clueless and somewhat both fucked in different ways.

But we both also knew this wasn't the time to panic or fight because we both exactly have eleven minutes before someone else will come in this room and make the situation worse.

"Miss?" And of course it had to happen the second I mentioned it in my brain.

"Just sign it" She pushed the paper into my hands, forcing me to hold it.

"Nathalia-"

"You're just gonna be a spy, a perfect job for you to do"

"I'm not taking the military's side-"

"You're not, you're not taking anyone's side" She chewed on her bottom lip.

"This will just buy us some time" I stared at her, finding myself suddenly anxious.

Because as far as I know using the military is one thing you shouldn't do and I'm pretty sure same goes with that boy.

"The military will be with you while you're there" She pulled out a pencil from the pocket of her leather jacket.

"Nathalia" I said, my voice wary and unsure of this.

"Just" She sighed, closing her eyes momentarily and opening them again.

"Just trust me on this"

"I do trust you" I leaned closer to her.

"You know who I don't trust"

The military has fucked up way more times to be even trusted anymore. I think I've been a witness of their failure numerous times and now having to trust them with my life just puts me on the damn edge.

Because it's my goddamn life and I'm not planning on dying because of the military's mistake.

Another loud knock followed by the sound of someone shaking the doorknob brought me back to reality.

Both of us were silent, both probably pondering the consequence of whatever our next decision is.

As far as my brain can calculate, if I don't sign this I'll probably die within three days.

I looked down at the contract again.

And if I sign this I'll probably die within a week.

Because the military won't be giving out contracted deals without plotting something.

I can feel Nathalia switching her stare from me to the contract and I can hear her mentally cursing in her mind right now because that's how she acts when she's unsure and debating with herself.

A frustrated huff left her lips and I was about to ask something when she suddenly yanked the contract out of my hands along with the pen and signing the contract.

With my signature.

"Can't believe I forgot that I know your signature" I heard her mutter under her breath.

"Are you fucking serious" I hissed, grabbing her shoulder and forcing her to face me.

"Relax I'll be the one getting you out of there" I narrowed my eyes at her.

"That's fucking forging-"

"She signed it" She said into her earpiece and I can't help but scoff in disbelief.

"You're walkie-talkie buddies with the military now?"

"Just... trust me on this" She pulled out of my grasp, folding the paper and tucking it safely in her jacket.

"You sound just as unsure as I do" I pointed out.

"That's because I am" I glared at her.

"Hey atleast it's better than dying in three days right?"
