Prevention

(Jackie's POV) 

Felix and I raced tuh' Liam's as quick as we could. We had tuh' get there before Mark did. I could see his car ahead. We were faster? That was surprisin'. He saw us. 

"What the hell are you doing, Jackie," Mark yelled out the window. 
"I can't let ya do this, Mark!" I replied. 

I started runnin' past the car, leavin' both Mark and Felix in tha' dust. I saw Liam's house ahead. I sprinted towards Liam's house, just as he was comin' out. He saw me. 

"Jackie! Oh God, are you okay?" he asked frantically. 
"GET INSIDE," I yelled. "NOW!" 

He did as I said and rushed in. I stood in front of his door and blocked Mark. 

"Seana, move," he demanded. "Just because he was drunk doesn't mean he has the right to do that to you." 
"He wasn't in his right mind, Mark! I've known Liam fer three years! I know he'd never hurt me! He's always treated me like his little sister." 
"Jackie," Felix began. "That's not true... He told me not to say this, but... he likes you." 

My eyes widened. Liam... likes me? Could that be tha' reason behind this? But since I was distracted, Mark was able tuh' get passed me. What was surprisin' was that Liam opened the door before Mark could even knock. 

"What do you mean, I don't have the right to do what?" he asked me. "Please tell me I didn't do anything stupid when I got drunk." 
"Well you did," Mark growled. "Why the fuck do you think I'm here!?" 
"Oh fuck... what the hell I do to you!?" 
"You, uh," I began. "Ya-" 
"You fucking raped her, that's what!" Mark yelled. 

Liam couldn't believe what he just heard. He fell tuh' his knees and started cryin'. 

"I'm so sorry, Jackie," he sobbed. "I'm so, so sorry..." 

Mark was taken aback by this. My guess is that he expected Liam tuh' know what he did. I tried tuh' tell him, but he doesn't listen. Liam finally got himself together and stood up. 

"I understand if you and Felix wanna quit the band..." he sniffled. "As well as the others... I know all of them are friends of yours." 
"I think I should, Liam," I sighed. "But that doesn't mean-" 
"If you're gonna say no one else knows," Felix interrupted. "I kinda let it slip out..." 
"FELIX! What tha' hell, dude!?" 
"What?! I was angry!" 
"I suppose I deserve this... But I wanna confess something before you leave." 
"I already know ya like me." 
"Y-You do?!" 
"Yeah. Felix told me." 
"Oh... I'm guessing that Mark is your boyfriend, isn't he?" 
"Yes." 
"Oh... I'm sorry for everything. Had I known you were already in a strong relationship like this, I would've just left it alone." 
"I'm sorry."
"Don't be. This was all my fault." 

I didn't know what else tuh' say. And from that day on, I never saw Liam again. The band broke apart, and we all went on with our normal lives, until one fateful day...

(Mark's POV) 

Seana and I were in the gym, just shooting hoops. It got really boring in our PE class, so we had nothing else to do. I was about to pass the ball to Seana when I saw how she looked. She looked tired and worn out. But it's only been five minutes. How could she be this exhausted by now? 

"Seana, baby," I began. "Are you okay?" 
"Y-Yeah," she panted. "I'm fine. Just tired is all." 
"You sure?" 

Tyler, Ethan, and Felix were on their feet now. There were only five of us in here, so. They knew something was wrong. 

"I don't feel so..." 

Seana started to fall, but I caught her just in time. Did she just faint?! 

"What happened?!" Felix asked, rushing over. 
"I don't know!" I replied. "Seana!? Sean, baby, please tell me what's going on?!" 

She started to come back from fainting and looked at me. 

"Wha... What happened," she asked weakly. 
"You fainted, Jackie," Felix replied. 
"I fainted?" 

I felt her forehead. She was really warm. Like, above-normal warm. 

"You need to get your strength back," Tyler started. "I guess it's a good think I brought a few snacks today." 

He tried to give something to Seana, but she denied anything. She would drink some water, but that was about it. Just then, the coach came out and saw us around her. Seana wasn't even paying attention anymore. 

"What the hell?" he started. "What happened here?!" 
"Jackie fainted," Felix replied. 
"Fainted?" 
"Yeah," I started. "She's also running a fever and won't eat anything." 
"Hm... take her to the nurse. Could be sick." 

I did so, and told the nurse the symptoms. She looked a little worried. She said Seana might need to go to the hospital, as this was really unusual. Once again, I had to explain to hospital personnel the symptoms. They drew blood tests and left to go get results. 

"Mark?" 
"Yes, Seana?" 
"What if it's somethin' bad? Like, really bad?" 
"Then we'll get through it together, like we always do." 

He smiled, just as a doctor came in the door. He had a clipboard in his hand. But, he was smiling, so it must be good. 

"Seana McLoughlin?" he started. 
"Yes?" 
"I have your blood test results. All it was was low blood pressure. Nothing major." 
"Really? That's it?" 
"Yes. I suggest you take a few days to rest and then you'll be able to go back to school." 
"Oh. Alright." 

So, after those few days, we went back to school. Apparently, John moved away after the fight we had. I could see why... But, at least now, me and Jackie were safe...
