Quiet

Ashe's P.O.V

The first thing I thought when I woke was that it was quiet. Like, really quiet. The second thing, third thing, fourth thing and all other following things ran through my head like this as I fully awoke: I'm not wearing my headphones and it's still quiet, I'm wrapped up in the comforter, I don't have my socks on, I'm still in my clothes, and I don't know where the hell I am!

I fought with the comforter, succeeding in unwrapping myself from its evil embrace and also sliding off the surprisingly high bed and onto the cold concrete floor. Definitely not my room. I banged my hands on the ground, the vibrations only giving me a little idea of where I am and that, by the sounds, the room is big. I rubbed my hands along the floor until they hit a nightstand by the bed. Pulling myself up, the cold floor greeted my bare feet mockingly.

I would have tried to use my voice to better get an idea of the room, possible because the sounds were so minuscule here that sound distortion would not impede me doing so, but I didn't know who could be attracted by the noise. In most events, the general sounds of life help but also hinder my ability to get a feel for a room. If it was quiet enough, I could use my voice to bounce off objects, then walk around until I was able to count where everything was in the room. An important item to any blind person is able to remember the number of steps from one item to another in any room so as to easily navigate around. Now, while I would usually use my voice on occasions such as this, I wasn't sure who may hear me and what they might do if they realized I was awake, so decided to double-oh-seven this place.

'Well, luckily no one heard me bang on the floor earlier,' I thought as I felt along the nightstand and to the wall. Now, which way to go? I followed the wall, my footsteps like little raindrops giving me an idea of any items within an arm's vicinity. The room was big, and I had run across two doorways before I had completed my circuit. I went back and found that one was a bathroom while the other was a door leading down a short hall devoid of doors and out into a large room. I could tell because the sounds moved further than even the room I had exited. I decided to head left along the wall, arm almost straight to better find things around me rather than mostly listening to the vibrations along the left wall- already knew where that was. In this way, I was able to navigate along the wall and run across a big couch to my right. It was outside of my arm's reach, but the light heartbeat and breathing sounds emanating from there assisted in me knowing its location. I continued carefully and even quieter, if that was possible.

My fingers eventually found empty space; what seemed to be the beginnings of another hall. I already knew I didn't want to go there, as I was already in what I believed to be the living room, and, though I could be mistaken, the probability of the door to outside being down that way was extremely low. Instead, I reached out my hands, walking carefully  to find something in the empty space before me. It was at this time that I not only found a sleek feeling countertop, but also stubbed my toe painfully against a wooden chair, by the sounds of it. I hissed at the pain, but flinched when the chair not only jumped but knocked into another chair beside it before clattering to the floor.

'Well, shit, there goes all my stealth and ninja-ie skills,' I thought before backing up against the wall as I heard the person on the couch sit up quickly, shocked by the sounds that the stupid chair decided to make, "What the fucking hell!" The guy roared, the couch squeaking from such a drastic move. I wasn't surprised by this reaction, as it was almost like a gunshot in the quiet room.

I hunched against the wall, listening as the sounds from his outburst gave me an idea of where most items were in this portion of the... House? I question this only because the feel and sounds are so different to the sounds one would expect to hear. The walls were not normal for a house, either.
