Moonlight splashed like cold milk across the small balcony, where a single, weeping soul stood, forehead pressed against the cold metal railing as his blue bangs fell over his eyes, obscuring his view. His clothes, a black shirt and blue jeans, were rumpled and he was in general looking rather unkempt, as though he hadn't groomed himself in the slightest for at least a week.
This young man's name was Kaito Shion, and he was indeed weeping, at least until a few minutes ago, as the rivers of sorrow in his eyes had run dry. He had a reason to mourn, though some could say that the blue haired teen was simply not letting go of the past.
But how could he? His girlfriend, the only girl who meant anything to him, that meant everything to him, had died a gruesome death. All she was doing was crossing the street when a car came out of God knows where and smashed his teal haired beauty to bits. Every time he thought about her snapped bones, bloodied clumps of once silky and glossy hair, and her broken, dead, bloody face, his stomach churned and he missed her even more. Why did it have to be her? Why did it have to be Miku?
"Miku, I...I miss you," Kaito whispered into the wind as it swept past him, past the glass doors that led to the balcony and into the darkness of his bedroom. His fingernails clawed at the railing and he bit his lip, making it bleed. He licked his bleeding lip, the rustic tang diluting some of the bitter sadness that filled him.
"I miss you, too," his late girlfriend's sweet voice filled his ears and he rested his head in his hands. He was going crazy.
"Miku..."
"Kaito...," the sound of her voice in his head was small, soft, alluring, like an angel's.
He turned on his heels and exhaled sharply, eyes on his bare feet, pale, bloodless, nearly lifeless as he dragged them across the dull flooring and into his bedroom.
"Kaito, I need you..."
The boy stumbled out of his room and across the dark hallway, towards the bathroom. The bathroom's light was the only one he kept on, and even then, he kept the door closed.
"It was so much fun being with you..."
Kaito clasped the cold, metal sphere of the doorknob, recoiling suddenly at the odd wetness that he had felt. It was too dark to see anything. It couldn't have been water on the knob...
He grabbed it again, this time turning it and pushing the door open. He huffed and glanced at his hand, covered in blood. His gaze snapped to the mirror, which was fogged up. All of a sudden, the bathroom was feeling very humid.
It was only after that that he zoned in on the sound of water peppering the bathtub. The shower, the shower was on, the shower curtain, a transparent thing...it was drawn to a close.
"I want you..."
The teenage girl inside had her back to the boy. She was stark naked, running her hands through her hair, which was teal and red. Her pale, slim body was blotched with blue bruises. As she washed her hair, her bloody teal locks fell to the tub in clumps, hitting the white surface with heavy thuds.
Kaito pulled the curtain aside with his bloody hand and the girl was gone. There weren't any clumps of hair on the floor, but the shower was still on. He sighed and leaned forward, clutching each of the taps with one hand each and rotating them. The flow of water slowed and came to an eventual stop, the dials screeching as he tightened them.
"Kaito."
The voice was behind him. Kaito got back to full height and spun around, nearly falling back into the tub. He exhaled a sigh of relief for two reasons; he would have suffered a head injury if he had fallen into the bath, and also, there was nobody behind him.
