Chapter 27

*Adrien's POV*

"Your divorce," His father said solemnly, not meeting any of them in the eye. "I caused it."

"I akumatized Ms. Rossi into Volpina again." His father said. "She was upset that her true love was married to another woman... Which happened to be you, Marinette."

"Oh my God," Marinette said, tears coming out of her eyes. Adrien felt both Marinette and his father stare at him, but no words came out of his mouth. So many things happening in one day, it was so hard to comprehend.

"She got akumatized into Volpina again, but her powers were far stronger than before. She could add sound to her illusions, she could twist things up in a way that made it all seem real. She made you both believe that you cheated on one another... " Gabriel Agreste said, wiping some stray tears off of his face.

Adrien felt the tears come from his face, but couldn't find the right words to say. Too much was happening at once. He thought that his wife cheated on him, he then divorced her, fell in love with Ladybug who happened to be his ex-wife, learned that his father was a villain whom he and Ladybug had been after for so long.

Is this even real?

He tried pinching his arm just to be sure. But even before the pain came rushing in, he knew that it was real. Everything that was happening was real.

His father was still talking, but Adrien wasn't listening. He tried to listen to his father talk, but no words were coming out of his mouth. He was moving his mouth, but no sound came out.

He glanced at Marinette, who was crying silently. Her hand was clenched into a fist and it looked like she wanted to punch his father right in the face.

He looked at his hands, pale and sweaty. He glared at them as hard as he could but everything was becoming blurry.

Very blurry...

*Marinette's POV*

Marinette clenched her fist tightly. She wanted to punch Gabriel Agreste right in the face but refrained from doing so. She wondered how Adrien was faring with all of this. She turned to her left and looked at him.

He's as pale as a ghost and is sweating crazily... What's wrong with him?

"Adrien?" She asked worriedly. "Are you alright?"

He didn't respond. "Adrien?" She asked again, knowing that right behind her, Gabriel Agreste was in worry too.

"Adrien?"

Adrien was breathing heavily and out of nowhere, he collapsed right onto the floor. 

"Adrien!" She and Gabriel Agreste exclaimed right away.

"We need to get him to a hospital," Marinette stated, in deep worry.

"I'll call the ambulance right away," Gabriel Agreste said with a firm nod as he ran towards a phone.

Funny... I've never seen him run before

Marinette shook the thought out of her head and checked Adrien's pulse. His heart was beating too fast.

The signs seemed familiar to her. And it all started coming back to her... 

(Flashback)

Ladybug, watch out!" Chat Noir said as he used his baton to knock the firey soccer balls from the Soccer Queen away. 

"Thanks, Chat," Ladybug said, dodging the soccer balls as well. As she was dodging, she studied the victim, looking for an object the Akuma must've been hiding in. She couldn't find one.

"My Lady," Chat Noir exclaimed, sensing that she didn't know what the object was. "It's a hair clip hidden in her hair. She talked about it in her last soccer interview right before she lost the game!"

She gave him a firm nod as she ran towards the Akuma victim. Out of nowhere, Chat Noir jumped in front of her.

"Chat!" Ladybug exclaimed, annoyed. "What was that for?"

Chat Noir suddenly fell to the ground. "Chat!" Ladybug exclaimed, deeply worried. Chat shook his head and pointed to Soccer Queen, right before he passed out.

Determined, Ladybug ran over to the victim and jumped right over her, grabbing the hair clip in the process and breaking it in half. An Akuma flew out.

Without even waiting, Ladybug yelled out."Time to de-evilize!" 

And in a flash, a beautiful white better fly flew away. "Bye, bye little butterfly," said Ladybug as she quickly yelled out her other catchphrase. 

"MIRACULOUS LADYBUG!" And all the chaos disappeared within seconds.

"Chat!" Ladybug exclaimed as she ran over to her partner and felt his forehead.

"Feeling worried about me, M'Lady?" Chat asked with a sly smile. "Chat, you scared me!" Ladybug exclaimed.

Chat was about to respond when his eyes went wide. "Um, M'Lady? I don't think the Akuma victim is feline well..."

Turning around, Ladybug saw the former "Soccer Queen" white as a ghost, sweating crazily.

"I-I did all this?" She asked, right before she fell to the ground.

(Flashback Ends)

The rapid heartbeat, sweating, pale skin, maybe even dizziness, it was all symptoms of shock.

Of course,  Marinette thought. Afterall, he did have a concussion a little earlier. The doctor told him not to stress too much. And all that's happening must've had a great effect on him. I don't know much about shock, but I hope Adrien's going to be alright.

HI everyone! It turns out, I haven't updated in like A MONTH?!?! I thought I had submitted a chapter, but it got deleted instead! I'm really sorry for all this and for the wait. This chapter is going to be pretty short and terrible because I have no idea what I wrote two weeks ago.

Also, this story has a few chapters left. I'm very glad that you all stayed with me this far.
