Chapter 5: Flashback

2010
Ben's Point Of View

My mom, Dad and I are in the small blue mini van, it smells like McDonald's to be honest. I am only nine so I don't think it matters, we are going to pick my sister up from gymnastics, she has it every Monday at 5:00.
I'm not feeling so well, I have this cough, and it has stuck with me since I was born. I say "Mommy can I have my water please"? She hands it back. I sip on the straw. My throat feels good after a refreshing drink of water, well at least it usually it does. I start to really hack, my chest hurts and I start to not be able to breathe.
My mom says with panic "Honey he is choking".
She reaches back and says "Come here baby". She grabs me as my dad pulls over. She unbuckles her seat belt. She opens the door and slams it. She opens my door and hops in. My face turns blue as I start to loose air. She freaks out and yells "Drive Daniel, drive, go to the hospital"!
He hits the gas and I fly back a little on how fast he is going.
She holds my on her lap with my head laying on her thy and her hands comforting me. He speeds up and I black out. My mom screaming and crying in fear of loosing her child, is the last thing I hear.

2016

I open my eyes at the hospital with Riot. She knows my story. I say "That was the last time that I saw my dad. When the lights went out my dad crashed the car, that day I lost my father, that's what I am told".
She says "I am so sorry, Ben, I feel bad, you lost your dad and now your sis-ter".
I didn't tell her that was the day I lost my mother. Every since then she has been a drunk, she barely makes enough money to afford our house. I have decided to let the police do there job, already two have gotten injured to try and save my sister. Riot and Dwayne are in the hospital.
I say "Is Dwayne home or here"?
She says "The bullet was pulled out and he is clear to go home, so he is up resting upstairs and talking to Mrs.Harper, he is going home tomorrow morning"!
I say "That's great, who is Mrs.Harper"?
Mrs.Harper says "Me, Ben, I am here to help you, not only am I a detective but I am somewhat a doctor"!
I say "How do you know about us"? I walk up and back her up into a wall. She says "Please calm down, I was sent to help you from Detective Jonathan. He in the one the case of missing girls".
I say "How many girls have gone missing"?
She says "About 123 in the past two years and 109 of them are dead, only 13!are still out there including your sister".
I say "Shouldn't there be thirteen"?
She says "One Girl has made it out but she is madly insane, after being drugged from her kidnapper Dr. Cornell, he is a scientist who drugs his girls and them kills them. You should here her story. Her name is Everest Rosemary, her address is well the mental hospital down the street".
I say "Well is this scientist caught"?
She says "No sorry". I back off of her and sit down. She says "How about tomorrow I take you to her house and she can tell you everything"!
I say "Yes, but I need to go home and get some rest".
Riot says "Ben can you please still stay, I have to tell you something, in private".
I say "Fine".!
Mrs.Harper walks out and waves us goodbye. She smiles and her boots clicking the floor, which makes her look more professional and confident.
I say "So what do you have to tell me".
She says "Your old girlfriend Jayde, the one who moved, is moving back, next week".!
I say "Oh my god I hope she still loves me".
Riot says "You still love her"?
I say "Maybe"?

Madison's Point Of View

The man, I hate, the man I despise, the man who is in my nightmares, the man who will never let me go and the man, who might let me die. He walks in with a cup and thumbtacks. I say "You have loads why? What the hell are you going to do to me"?
He says "You, wanna be with Sky, well than you get ten thumbtack, and your owner is coming tonight, so your lucky". I am actually excited to leave.
He says "I have cameras, so hand over the cookie"!
I say "No, this is mine, you don't feed me that much anyway".
He shoves three thumbtacks into my legs. I say "You asshole". I take the cookie out of my bra and hold it out. He reaches to grab it, and I shove it in my mouth. I spit the cookie at him. He stomps his boot to the dusty floor showing his rage and how annoyed he is.
I look down out if breathe. He stabs the thumbtacks in my stomach with no hesitation and no respect for me. I scream at the top of my lungs.
I kick and hit and scream and cry. He yells with stubbornness "Shut the hell up you little shit"!!
I say "Just bring Sky in here now, it's a deal".
He walks out grunting with anger. He wheels her in. She is laughing and laughing like a freak. He strokes her blonde hair, and kisses her making her stop laughing. I say "Your sick".
He says "Shut up". He takes his belt and whips my in the stomach where I was once bleeding. I bite my lip not wanting to scream, it would show I was weak.
I can't give up. He gets close and closer about to kiss me. I pucker my lips and he kisses me, I kiss him back acting like I am happy. He grabs my back pulling me closer. He sticks his tongue in and I bite his tongue. My jaw clenches down not releasing. His tongue starts to bleed. I let go and my my mouth and lips are covered with blood.
I lick my lips and Sky starts to smile and chuckle. He runs out of the room. I realize if I want to escape I have to start acting like an animal. I have one night to get Sky on my side, I have to pull back the memories of her and Carson. I have to do anything I can to escape, I'll do anything!
